  1. I normally use method #1, but I have used the second as well. One "advantage" of #2 is when using a smaller hook with a longer worm, by sending it through the worm as pictured, you put the hook closer to the fishes mouth. That's one way to split-shot rig a worm. Or you can go with #1. Either works.

  3. Welcome aboard, David!
  4. Hmmmmm. Dubious claim, then. Guess we'll have to wait-n-see after it's finally on the market.
  5. Hi Lars, welcome aboard!
  6. Agree pretty much. Pink is popular in the saltwater world, though.
  7. Interesting line coming out... http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/the-lateral-line/european-tackle-company-says-theyve-created-a-line-that-could-replace-braid

  11. Believe they are specks down here in salt. Was responding to his "saltwater" part of his question.
  12. While I am not a trout guy, I speak with plenty of guys who fish salt/brackish for them down here in Hampton Roads. I'm told they like bright, chartreuse worms, grubs, etc. If you find warmer water (salt), that's where many like to fish for them. Talk to locals where you live, great resources.
  13. Welcome to the forums, Alex!
  14. Done it in the past, no issues... Especially with braid. But with non-braid, like said above, run it out behind your boat, or use line conditioner when you spool it on your spinning reel from the BC.

  17. The Bills will break .500 for the season, and I think they may be a wild card in the playoffs. I'm a little concerned with San Diego coming to The Ralph, but it'll be a tough game for them to win, so I'm thinking the Bills go 3-0.
  18. Josh, I tie either the Modified Albright/Alberto, or a variant of it, or the uni-to-uni. FWIW, I will go up with 7-15 wraps depending on the line diameter, then back down with 4-7 wraps. I like the thinness of the MA/Alberto, and it has never failed me ONCE I TEST IT thoroughly before first cast. By that I mean that I will do several pulls and knot testing first. If it fails, it is in this stage. And this HAS happened to me, usually with slippery and thin diameter lines, in which case I usually go to a Uni-to-Uni. But on the water, the failure rate is almost zero.
  19. Welcome aboard, Sam!
  20. Plenty of people use spinning-only. Raul is spot on with his two examples. I also fish for recreation, but I decided to learn baitcasters a few years back and have spent a bit of money in that time moving up to really good quality reels (Shimano Chronarch 50e models). I use one of those setups an awful lot, possibly more than I use spinning. But I could do what I do with spinning only, I just choose to use baitcasting as well. But by all means, use what you are most comfortable with. There's no reason you *have* to use both. Be proficient in what you are most comfortable with.

  22. Yo-zuri does not seem to be ending things as I initially thought. They still feature Hybrid and UltraSoft on their web site. Now this doesn't mean Hybrid isn't ending or getting upgraded, a new formula, whatever. I also picked some 600 yards of 6lb green Hybrid on eBay with free shipping from a buyer with 100% rating, $10. There was cheaper out there, but this is what I picked. P-line Floroclear is still a go-to line for me, but I've been back to using Hybrid in 4, 6, and 8 lately. I prefer Floroclear 10# - 15#. Since it's all leader material for me, 600 yards will last me a looooong time.
