What Kind Of Reel For A St. Croix Avid Trigger
I'd go with a Curado I in 7.2:1, personally, in right-handed. Or I'd pick a Chronarch 50e. Probably the Curado I since you bought a MH rod. I like higher speed rods for mulit-use. I just change my reel cadence depending on what is tied on the other end. Read all the replies, these are what I'd pick, FWIW, which is zero to $0.02.

Remember This Cute Guy???
Our little Oakley is almost a year old. Short coat black lab. She's a knucklehead of vast dimensions. I ended up buying a training collar in order to restrain + train her. If she gets out of the house/jumps the fence, she's in run-away heaven and it takes forever to corral her. This collar from Dogtra works wonderfully, despite my reservations to actually use something like this. We use the "pager" mode which is just a vibration 98% of the time and it works like a charm. Have only had to nick her a couple times. We do not use the "continuous" zap. Anyhow, FWIW. Bought the Dogtra 300M at Bass Pro.

Baitcaster And Kayaks
Agree with fly and KenG, just go out and fish with whatever is comfortable to you. I use both BC and spinning gear, almost always have at least one of each, sometimes more whenever I go out. Other times I take only spinning, sometimes I take only BC. I will say that a trained thumb will help immensely with BC in a kayak. Fortunately I can stand in mine, and I also sit very high in my yak, so BC is no issue most of the time. Occasionally I'll cast too low, as I did the other day with a crank, which grabbed the water behind me as I was casting resulting in a lovely backlash. You certainly do not have to use a BC. It is just a tool, which I happen to really like a lot

Building The World Record Bass
Interesting, Tom. Is Schwartz (I assume yes) doing this only in Texas, or in CA and FL as well?

1 Carbonlite Vs. 2 Berkley Lightning Shock Rods
I have read elsewhere that many of the breaks were from early builds, several years back. I purchased two Carbonlites at the Spring Classic and thus far have been *very* pleased with them. FWIW, I did have a Shock rod, and it is a very fine rod, no issues there. But IMHO, the Carbonlite is so much lighter and easier on the arms after a long day on the water. You will like the Carbonlite + PQ combo, I'm sure. My casting combo is a 6'6" CL + Chronarch 50e. Unbelievably light and easy on the body.

If You Had A 1,200
Couldn't say which five, specifically, off the top of my head, but they would include Shimano reels, probably JDM models, and for rods, Cumaras, or Megabass rods.

How To Clean Cork?
Yes. It is just a sealer, will keep the cork looking "new" for a bit longer than otherwise.
-
How To Clean Cork?
Yup, what bassboy said. Can also take mineral spirits to the cork for cleaning prior to U-40. But a magic eraser should work just fine.
