  1. The only "length" I've added to rods was via a rod balancing system. At most (w/o measuring), it's probably an inch or so.
  2. Great fishing yak, if you can afford one, I doubt you'll be disappointed! Hanover_Yakker is on the Hobie team, has a Pro Angler, will likely chime in here. I'd have a Pro Angler if it were within my budget.

  4. Welcome aboard!
  5. I had to come back to your picture after reading the comments to realize you stuffed the tubes! I scanned right over that aspect of the picture. LOL. Great idea, never done that myself, might have to give it a try one of these days.
  6. I used to live in Caledonia. The Oatka is a great trout fishery, lures only - or at least it was when I lived there.
  7. Well worded, Hootie. But that's just my opinion. Others may feel differently... LOL
  8. Fantastic pix!! Man, would love to have even one of those ladies on the other end of my line.
  9. Soft plastics. Wacky, weighted wacky. Next would be Mojo and Texas rigging, split shotting, drop shotting.
  10. What everyone's said so far. I've not fished much this winter other than on a local community lake, fairly shallow. But previous winters, I've caught bass off ledges in deeper waters... I've caught on black worms, various and sundry darker colors of soft plastics.
  11. I've seen it pretty hyped up by some kayak guys, never tried myself. Only thing I could see it really working on is during spawn, but hey, I'd only know if I tried one! Perhaps someday I will.
  12. I'll just throw in another reel, the Daiwa Lexa 2000. Walmart has it for $93 and change (online + free shipping), retails for $120. I love mine, and I also own 2 Stradic 1000FI models, which I also love. You could get a killer rod for what's left over. Just my .02.
  13. Welcome to the forums. Bag + boxes look good.
  14. Welcome aboard, Shane!
  15. LOL. Do my pix look upside down on your system? They're right-side-up for me... I'll have to take measurements of the arm(s). Will try to get some better close up pix as well. As for attaching the unit to the Ultimate's rail system, I bought bolts for securing your toilet to the flange in the floor. Added nylon washers (and shaved them to fit), bought a couple screw nuts from the local hardware store to make for easy tightening/removal. Stainless bolts, nylon lock nuts for the arm.
  16. This was just shared publicly on Google+, looks absolutely delish: Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake Ingredients: 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened 3 eggs 6 ounce of sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 (16.5-ounce) rolls refrigerator chocolate chip cookie dough (keep refrigerated until needed) Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. 2. In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well mixed; set aside. 3. Slice cookie dough rolls into 1/4-inch slices. Arrange slices from one roll on bottom of a greased 9- x 13-inch glass baking dish; press together so there are no holes in dough. Spoon cream cheese mixture evenly over dough; top with remaining slices of cookie dough. 4. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until golden and centre is slightly firm. 5. Remove from oven, let cool, then refrigerate. Cut into slices when well chilled. If desired top with ice cream or whipped cream.
  17. Welcome aboard, Matt!
  18. Hm. Interesting. 200 sizes only...for now, at least. Not my cup o' tea, like smaller reels like the 50 size, or 100 Daiwa sizes. C'est la vie. No biggie. As said before "give it time", they may release other sizes.
  19. If you're any bit industrious, build your own transducer arm, and mount it to the sides of the FS12T. I've got an inexpensive Garmin which I mounted to a black cutting board, then to my rails on the Native Ultimate 12. I used an aluminum tubing, square, cut it to what I needed to get below the waterline on the yak. It's plenty useful for determining depth, contour, etc., in the reservoirs I fish (which don't get deeper than 25' typically.

  24. Yes. Or at least it is for me, and I pretty much fish the same as you. Medium gear, and everything is braid mainline + leader ranging anywhere from 6 to 15 pound test, and either P-Line Floroclear/Yo-Zuri Hybrid, or pure fluorocarbon.
