    Welcome aboard, Lloyd!
  6. I agree with @J Francho here. While I've actually gone the other direction - I mostly use spinning now, pared down my casting gear. I set out to go casting-only and ended up concluding (for me) spinning met the majority of my needs, for a variety of reasons. But for some uses I still prefer casting gear. They both have their place.
  7. That's a negative. We've seen no issues with braid in salt/fresh.
  8. One of my favs, as well. Really like the football style head.
  9. Bass Pro sells a plastic "box" of what 6 or 8 wacky jigs, or at least they used to. Just did a search and only their weedless popped up in packs of 4. Might be in the store, or may be named differently and didn't show up in "wacky jig" search. I used to buy the non-weedless and made my own.

  17. Holy schmokes! Drop shot is awesome for LM and SM! I use it often for largies down here (no smallies in my locale, sadly).

  20. Sigh...I guess when DSG leaves Patrick Henry Mall it's a sign of the Mall Apocolypse. Sad.
  21. Just checked them out. Looks great, super close, fast shipping to my area. Thanks for the tip, John!

  24. It does, but it's not 100% stoppage of degradation. It's like you buy a diving watch - it's only water resistant (not proof) down to a certain depth/atm. Boats down here that see saltwater use will use stainless. I tend to use galv. in all my yaks, but in some sets of screws or bolts I've bought from same bin, I've had at least a couple get totally corroded while others show zero signs of rusting. The acceleration for me started after I first hit the saltwater. Anyhoo, I figure you know all this. Imperfections, and usage wearing the zinc coating down will allow a corrosive in. Just look at all those galvanized cars up north where salt is used heavily in the winter. From same Wiki:
