Hi Folks;

 

Recently moved to Vero Beach. Looking to find bass fishing places that I can fish without a boat. Also willing to partner

up by pitching in for gas or bait on your boat.  Need to catch that 2 digit bass:):)

I'm on SR60 close to 95.

Tried a few canals but the steep embankments and the vegetation growth is tough.

Welcome aboard!

Hit google earth and start searching for water with some access.  Look for flood gates in the canals, current can make them magical.  Get a good pair of boots for the creepy crawlies, I never leave home without them.

PM me  i live in stuart, i have a bass boat , gas is cheap.  I have a friend here that knows all the best spots to shore fish up near you in ft pierce . i fish the st lucie inlet for snook and tarpon.  i also have access to a massive 5000 acre ranch right off 95 in palm city,  that has a 40 ft deep 4 mile long lake and another 40 foot deep lake on it with monster bass in it , even some bowfin. I want to go to okachobee again, and i would love to go up to stick marsh with my boat.  . my gas bill is cheap so yeah PM me and ill give you my phone number and we can go  I also fish for snook . just moved here 6 months ago from CALIFornia

Hello, I saw this was an old post but I figured I would give it a try. I moved into the north ft pierce/vero area a couple years ago and used to be a big bass shore fisher up in Mass. I am at a loss when it comes to finding spots to fish with my two young boys here. I've tried a few canals and the pond in my community but not much luck. My boys get bored from not catching anything and it's hard to get them to go fishing now. Any advice on specific spots. I went to lake Garcia but the only spot to shore fish I found was at the boat ramp which was too busy. Thanks!

Mr. Science teach. Yes it is a whole different animal down here. I'm from MA also. Even panfish behave differently and do not bite readily. I have  been here 8 years and have only caught a half dozen crappie. The variety of fish willing to bite doesn't exist. The fishing is not what I thought it would be.

You're very close to world class fishing, places like Headwaters Lake. You can walk the levee by the Fellsmere Grade Recreational Area and catch all kinds of nice bass. That whole area is loaded with canals and lagoons, many places to bank fish. I've banked fished there and have done quite well, sometimes even better than with a kayak. Just be mindful of all the wildlife. Best of luck!
