  1. I agree with a lot of what has already been mentioned. I'd side with a wider range of payouts over having a couple teams getting the majority of it. More payout slots seems more inviting and gives more folks a chance to win at least something. I believe this would be more inviting and might attract a bigger group of guys that otherwise wouldn't enter- guys newer to fishing, new to tournaments, or just guys that like to fish on occasion but would like to participate in the tournament to benefit your cause.

What a hawg! you catch that in Minnesota? That is a VERY impressive fish for up here. Kudos! What did you catch her on?
  3. Its just called Crawdad, Picture looks very dark on TW, but the ones I have purchased look closer to the one i posted.
  4. I like the smaller size YUM crawbug on a dropshot. When I dropshot a craw I usually fish it different than a worm or minnow bait. Shorter leader and less wiggling and shaking. Instead, more drag and deadstick.
  5. Earlier this week a buddy of mine shot me a text saying he had an incredible day on the water. I had a business trip scheduled and I was going to pass right through his town. So naturally, like any good friend would do, I invited myself on a fishing venture for the evening. I met him on the Black River at 6 pm and were fishing shortly after. After about an hour of no strikes and a couple lost lures I hooked into the first fish. Back-peddled my way back to shore and landed this beautiful 34.5" Muskie! It wasn't ten minutes later that I made a cast next to a bridge piling and another muskie rolled on my spinnerbait but didnt hook up! I cast right back at it, and she rolled on it the exact same way, again no hookup! Well, I continued to fish that area, and 15 minutes later I cast right back at the bridge piling and hook up! This one fought much harder and offered some airborn acrobatics! This beauty measured a good 38"! All in all, a great trip to spend some quality time with a friend and get me on some beautiful fish!
  6. Ive felt those reels in stores. Insanely smooth for what it costs! congrats on the purchase! TAKE IT BACK haha jk nice haul!
  7. Same thing happening here. Finding shade would be my first suggestion. If you can find deeper water that is shaded, like docks, or along a bluff, that would be a good place to start.
  8. As far as budget baitcasters go, I have and would recommend 1. Shimano Caius (like it better than my Citica E) 2. Daiwa Laguna 3. Daiwa Aird. I have also used multiple generations of the black max and pro max, and I can say that I hands down would buy another Caius first and Laguna second. The Aird is also a ice reel, just not that much different than the Laguna. so I think there is more value with the Laguna. If you want to spend $70 get a Caius if not, a Laguna can be had for less than $50 new on the bay
  9. I think you'll recognize the spot on these photos Nik! Caught these beauts earlier this week at Big Falls!
  10. I'd agree, you probably won't find any groundbreaking deals. But my post was to inform people that G.Mountain will stop accepting gift cards soon (18th). They will be of no value after that date, so if you own a gift card, you have no choice but to spend it.
  11. I know that this story is somewhat old news for most people. But, I would like to point out that Gander Mountain will quit accepting gift cards on 5/18. only a couple days out. If anyone here has any gift cards or knows anybody who has them, you better get them spent. Just hoping I can help someone out, don't want anyone to lose their money. here's a picture from their website.
  12. yeah but you can find good deals on bobber stops for sinker pegs.Like 600 for 4 bucks lol.
  13. Blain's Farm and fleet. I think they are only in a couple states, Wisconsin and Illinois are the ones I know of.
  14. Thanks! will look into some sort of cushion for the seat. Thanks! Any recommendations on a PFD? Thanks! I have looked a little bit, but seeing nothing really in my price range. I am not really looking for a "forever kayak," More looking towards something I can use until I have more time and money to purchase and actually use it. Right now, with Wisconsin's short fishing season, I'll be happy if I get it out 15 times a year. Thanks! Good to know! I'm about 5'9 and 170.
  15. I am looking at purchasing a kayak, I don't have much to spend (currently in college and have other things that require my money). But I want something to get myself on the water more often. I have Kayak fished before and like it, just was out of a small, uncomfortable sit inside kayak. A local retail store is going to be having a sale on these next month for $199. https://www.lifetime.com/lifetime-90539-tamarack-120-inch-sit-on-top-angler-kayak-olive-with-paddle-backrest# I don't really want to spend much more than that and for the price it seems like a good deal. (I really like the higher end kayaks and the option of hands free propulsion, and maybe will consider getting one just not any time in the near future) The sale isn't until next month, so I have some time to think it over. Just wondering other's overall thoughts on it? Is the Kayak any good? Is the price good? Thanks for reading.
  16. I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER REEL ...i think it worked....will let you know if the bait monkey ends up getting the best of me
  17. Depends on the style, but sometimes NetBait and Big Bite Baits have good value. Also the Berkley Havoc lures are pretty competitively priced. Netbait's trick worm comes a 20 pack for 4.29. BBB has bulk packs of certain lures 6 bucks for 25 senkos. 3.50 for 25 grubs.
  18. Hard to say. It has the raised arms, but its not a Koppers. My best guess is that it is a house-brand or knock off of some kind.
  19. Here's what I was talking about with the boss jigs. You can get them at tw or their website fishingskirts.com 4 pack of jigs $6 Then get a 5 pack of skirts for $3.50 So for a total of $9.50, you get four quality jigs. Comes out to $2.37 per jig.
  20. There is no cheaper legitimate frog than the Booyah Pad Crasher. For less than 6 bucks you get a frog that has everything you need: Quality components including hook, skirt and body. Its heavy enough to cast long distances on baitcasting gear unlike scum frogs, and the bodies hold up to a lot of fish. Jigs are jigs, you're gonna pay $3/4 for one. What I do is buy BOSS heads and I make my own skirts. However they also offer banded skirts for pretty cheap, to build your own. If you don't want to go that route, then I'd buy seiberts. Just a real quality jig and it is on the lower end of the price range when you compare them to like dirty jigs or other brands.
  21. 4 inch is my favorite, the 5 is a close second
  22. I have like 6 pairs of the YUM sunglasses found in walmart. they cost like $4.88 or something, and the polarization is good. I buy them because I will take non-fisherman fishing often and like to have extra pairs handy. They fit me pretty well, and they cut down glare great. Not resistant to scratches or anything because they are cheap plastic lenses, but they work just fine.
  23. LOL Savage I use what these guys are using ^^^^^^^^^^^^
  24. i agree with what many members have already said: 1. youre just not as used to it yet. 2. More importantly, the 1/8 oz spinner is not heavy enough for your baitcasting gear.
