  1. I fished with a guy with the same boat on okeechobee in january last year in an FBF tournament and he would run wide open in 1 1/2-2 foot of water through cattails scared the crap out of me but nice freekin boat
  2. Horrible 2 bites all day and I talked to some live bait guys I know and they said the same thing that they had only caught 1 on SHINERS!!! I tried the south canal but nothing both my bites came in the housing canals in the thick hydrilla, what did you get your fish on? ps : the water was alot warmer than I expected but the fish didnt bite. still had fun
  3. My uncle in the early 90's in a bass federation series event ran about 90 miles in Gilbertsville Kentucky. he finished I think fifth and barely missed qualifying for the grand nationals.
  4. As a non boater normally it 5-6 rods, in the larger tounaments you can get away with bringing more because of the money involved. I also think it depends on the size of the boat, try to bring less if your on a 16-18 foot boat otherwize most new boats have slots for about 8 rodsalong side your seat. Personally as a boater as long as it doesnt get in my way you could bring 20 and I dont care.
  5. Thank you for all your input, I thing I'm going to try a 3 blade prop and see what I think and if I'm not happy I have a spare. I am mainly interested in bolt on's (which i was not sure if they existed) I do not want to mess with the powerhead for the reasons that the motor runs great, I may sound ignorant about this but I enjoy going fast!! any input on good props is appreciated, I have heard people talk about SS props? What do you think?.....Once again Thank you for your help.
  6. none taken, im just looking for opinions something to think about and to talk to my marina about
  7. first off if you lived on walk-in-water why did you move, it is an excellent lake ( my favorite) and yes I am young but I grew up on the water mainly salt when I was younger. I think you misunderstood me, all i was saying was that an aluminum boat does not ride good in rough water compared to a fiberglass, that in my experience it tends to be quite painful when in white caps. I own a 19' boat and I was not trying to sound conceded about the 20 foot boat comment. I may not know all the facts but i have also been on both boats and i know that i enjoyed the glass by far..........just my opinion.
  8. Well the boat handles excellent and your right about all the extra mods being a hassle, mainly what you said about the fuel management air intake prop stuff like that was what I was looking for but i wasn't sure what options I had. The vindicator is awesome the torque with the 4 blade the hole shot is amazing. I do have alot of experience with boats, my uncle has an 84 bass nautique 17' 9" with a 150HO experimental race engine that runs 76 and is hard to handle which I have driven plus I have a buddy who has a 21' ranger 250 that runs 78 that I used from time to time before I bought mine.....................Also just wondering when I insured my boat the vin brought up at 201 not a 295PEDC like it says on the side which confuses me, have you ever heard of that
  9. 9 years old tried to lip a 5lbs mudfish........i learnd a new word that day :-/
  10. The beloved Bass Tracker, pros and cons haha............I looked into buying the Tracker,Nitro,Stratos because of the fact they all are the best boats for the price, I bought a Stratos, but i think the Bass Tracker is a good boat for the fisherman not the tournament angler, big difference. Trackers are good for guys who like to only fish on nice days with low wind, but they can be very versatile, I like to fish in all conditions. i fished with a buddy on lake Walk-n-Water with 15-25mph winds in a Tracker and thought my kidneys were gunna explode. They are very stealthy and can go where my boat cant, very good design and look nice, you get the boat your comfortable with, take it for a ride first and see if you like it. Mark Menendez won a Elite series tourney with an aluminum boat because he had to go through water that was real shallow. All boats have pros and cons, it all depends on what you like and can afford not everybody can buy a 20' boat if you like it buy it
  11. I went out Sunday and was surprised, water temp around 55-60 degrees after the major cold snap, I got real excited i was on a familiar lake and thought we were going to have a good day. Nothing!!! not a bite, saw dead Tilapia but no bait fish of bass movement, i tried canals, shallow water, deep water, bull rush, grass, flipped heavy matting, and my home club tournament (which i did not fish) on East lake Toho only caught 7 fish. I was wondering if anybody has had any good days, bad days, what lakes, and what you did since the cold snap.
  12. Thanks for the advice ill defenitly have to look into doing that I would like to hit the 70mph mark right now my motor with the 4 blade will on hit 65 gps at 5700 top so im thinking i need to start with the new prop (have to start small so wife doesnt kill me)
  13. There isnt alot of public areas to fish in land o' lakes, are you fishing from shore of a boat?
  14. how do i get the shaft height, and what pad are you talking about
  15. I have a 1997 Stratos 295 Pro Elite dual console, 200hp Evinrude Vindicator, 4 blade prop, manual jack plate set for performance by manufacturer, top speed around 62-65 mph. My question is what can I do to get any more speed and what top speed can I reach. Thank you for your help.
  16. I cant believe no one has mentioned flippin, I can assure you I have a flipping stick in my hand and I'm searching for matted hyacinth clumped around cat tails of submerged hydrilla..................... I agree flipping and pitching is way overlooked during the winter time. florida bass are looking to bed by the end of january, shallow canals with sunny days can be awesome. small profile baits like baby brush hogs and 4"-6" worms with 1/4 oz weights
  17. I will be there sunday and it will probably be slow try the canals near dolly bay and try throwing a rattletrap early in dolly bay or little dolly bay let me know how you do
