  7. It is quite possible on the spinng rod could be my technique but im sure its not on my heavy set up. Ive always been a power fisherman to a fault of stupidity and I never had that issue before but as for me trying to expand my repertoire and finessing alot more it is possible that my technique is all wrong on a spinning rod.
  8. Im a bigger guy with a pretty strong hookset and I fished a breast cancer tourney and I started using trokar hooks and it made me lightened my hookset and I didnt break any off so im hoping that fixed my prob but my confidence in in the tank when a fish bites. Thanks for everybodys help!!!
  9. Im really good with leader knots and braid knots, double uni for the leader
  10. positive about 75% of the time its the line not the knot but a few times its the knot. but either way I have never had this issue, not anywhere near this bad.
  11. Ive been debating going to braided line, I have it on my salt water set up. Should I use some sort of leader like floro or mono?
  12. Anywhere from 5-15" above the hook. I thought the same thing but Im breaking off on both my flippin rods.
  13. I recently switched from Gamakatsu hooks to Trokar so see if that wound help and it did a little but im still loosing alot of fish. also im in Folrida so not much deep water here, ps: what rod brand and type do you use thats works for you?
  14. Im using a Shimano med-heavey with 8-10 lbs floro. Now im looking to buy a new rod and I dont want to waste my money for the same problem so thats why I am asking this question.
  15. I have always been a power fisherman. I love flipping and pitching more than anything but over the last few months I ave been breaking of ALOT of fish during my hookset. My question is has anybody had this problem and any tips on how to lower my number of breaks. FYI I typically use 15-25lbs florocarbon or 55-75 lbs Power Pro
  16. Im having an issue keeping bass hooked on my spinning gear. Im having trouble with everything from worms, fluke's and even as surprising as it sounds the wacky rig. Now I have been a baitcaster guy since I started fishing so I tend to power fish and I am trying to slow it down and finess more so any help on rod selection or anything that will help solve my hooksetting issue with the spinning tackle. Thanks
  17. The reason everybody thinks Tarpon stinks is because you cant fish it like a normal tampa lake. Once you fish it a few times its a good lake....... bassbum85 pm me when you get down and ill hook up with you and go fishing, im always looking for a fishing buddy
  18. WOW!!! I cant believe yall think Lake Tarpon in crap, its one of the best lakes for quality and quantity. I fish it all the time and do excellent there. Lake Rousseau is a great lake to fish about 2 hrs north
  19. Lake Tarpon is great in may.
  20. Ill probably be there. Do you fish with bay area?
  21. how did you get to do that?
  22. Im in! I believe I won last year lol
  23. I know everyone has their own technique but im just curious on what kind of cover seems to work best for you when the water down here gets cold. I seem to second guess myself too much when the water is very cold.
