  12. i pulled up early one morning on my best spot, quietly lowered my trolling motor as i made a long cast with an instant splash a bass nails my lil sammy just as i touch my foot to the pedal an power my trolling motror the thing flies off the mount into the lake...my foots still on the pedal keeping the motor from falling farther in the water and at the same time the fish is pulling, jumping and demanding my attention...i landed the fish before i salvaged the trolling motor, thats when i knew what my prioritys were...

  17. the best show i ever saw was a 30 minute performance by Jason Quinn a pro from south carolina and he talked about the baits , reasons for useing them , showed his ability to make just the right presentation..no commeralized stuff at all and at the end of the show they said that he caught over 70 fish during day the show was made!! thats totally awesome and i wou;d watch shows like that for sure
  18. It's like the little boy who wanted to go fishing in the 100degree heat and his dad says they wont catch any fish and the lottle boy answers "but pop, it aint the catchin that counts , its the goin!..couldnt agree more

  21. thats funny because Hank fishes this lake im talking about and he usually fishes the extreme upper end , actually he fishes the river..but on the catawba river we get real red thick mud often after hard rains and at 1st i can run down the lake but after a couple of days the mud moves in and of course i go back to the upper part where it may or may not be any clearer..i dont know how to tell if its muddy all the way through the water but it sure looks like it is..heres a pic after its cleared up 50%...http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab317/bassinbob54/thelake004.jpg
  22. that happened here too after all that muddy water flooded the lake , they dropped it like 4 feet exposeing what little wood we have here so fishing shallow was a lot tougher..what i did was work my jig mostly around rock. I figured if they cant find wood then they'll go for rock instead and thats where i got my bites
  23. nice fish there have you noticed that jig fish seem to run bigger? i have and heard others on here say the same thing..good job
