  1. yea we got the same thing here in NC a drought and the lakes way down..fishing has been tough but i found a few in the back of very shallow creeks feeding on shad and also getting some off docks that have deep water...good luck
  2. remember to check your line and retie often
  3. Those suspended fish may not even be bass and even if they are its very difficult to catch them.
  4. I'd look for edges in those weeds and lilly pads, bass love to ambush thier prey on those edges also in shallow water the little things really are important, old stumps or some rocks any little thing thats different. Good luck..
  5. yea follow the creeks useing your sonar and look for the pods of bait, the bass are close by.I throw topwater when thier feeding up top and small cranks and shakeyheads otherwise..good fishing
  6. got out today and really hit the jackpot catching 19 bass in 2 hours useing a floating trick worm, they were just flat out eating it 2 of the fish were right at 5 lbs with many other 3 and 4 lbers...i must have done something right..lol
  7. my biggest bass was 11.4 and she hit a rapala lure and honestly felt like a weight untill she saw my boat and then she went wild as i was trying to land her and flipped a treble hook deep in my hand so i spent the afternoon in the emergency room...so i;d say that for me catching the big one was painful
  8. i went out yesterday after the front passed an caught 11 on a double ringer small stick bait and went out again today an had 9 more good sized ones on that same bait..i just downsize after fronts pass over and usually have good results...Bob
  9. one thing that helps me skip is to slightly rotate my wrist towards the target as i cast..tends to help keep the bait down i think
  10. if it was me i;d start throwing a jerkbait i've found them to be very good in cold water..just position your boay at least a cast and a half from the shore and jerk and most importat PAUSE it thats when you;ll get bit...good luck..
  11. hey been there before and the best advice i got was to just go fishing without any past memories or fav baits or anything preconcived..just go fishing and it'll all come back for you...hang in there better days will come...Bob
  12. hey when that happens i just go fishing and prepare for the conditions
  13. its hard to understand this strange attachment to gear and esp to lures an colors..heck my absolutly favorite bait and rod an reel plus the lure is whatever it is that the fish want and that changes almost everyday...no way to get attached to any one thing like that..just my 2 cents worth
  14. i use spinning gear most applications except really heavy or very deep diveing cranks..usually when i need precise casting i go spining plus after 50 plus years of useing it im more comfortable with spinning..like all the guys said..whatevers more comfortable to catch more fish, thats what we do..thanks Bob
  15. i'd concentrate on what do best and definatly keep working with that jig thier deadly for bass even in murky water like you have...
  16. wow what a day! way to go ;D
  17. been there...my advice is to tie on your absolutly favorite bait and just go fishing..it'll come back
  18. if the water temps are low i;d use a jerkbait myself a lucky craft pointer 89 has been really good to me so far this winter and i fish a lot..good fishing to you
  19. wow thats a really tough day..but at least someone caught fish..i once had a motor blow on me with my wife and 3 month old in the boat, temps close to 100, baby crying, wife getting madder by the minute when out of the bluse comes this guy and his wife and he offers to ride me miles back to the marina, pick up my truck and then pull my boat to the nearest landing a good 5 miles away..those folks saved us big time..
