  1. The rod and reel part of it is for the fishermen as are all the flashy and expensive lures out there. Now will your $200 rod or reel out perform your $50 rod and reel. I would say yes.....longevity being one of the biggest factors. Quality of materials used that translate to your fishing experience on the water is another biggie. I loved my berkely lightning rods and they will always have a soft spot in my heart! I have fished with a bunch of rods even the Ducketts but I have changed everything I use over to Denali rods. Check them out on tackle warehouse they even have some stuff on sale now I believe....
  2. Seaguar invizx is pretty darn good line. For the money you cant beat Red label. They cant keep that stuff on the shelf!
  3. I cant speak on the Doybns rod, but I have a few rosewoods and they are definitely a quality built, sensitive, great looking rod. Its was time to replace my old rods which were falling apart and I wanted to go with one company for all my rods. I looked real hard at Falcon, and Duckett. Then I came across Denali. The Jadewoods in my opinion is one of the best if not the best rod on the market for its price range. And this is speaking on quality control, they types of guides used, the real seat, and customer service. To me thats the main thing that can make or break a company is how you treat your customers. The guys and gals at Denali are a great bunch!
  4. Denali has a Jadewood 7' M for dropshotting, but I like the 7'2 Kovert spinning rod. 10lb braid 6-8lb floro leader Seaguar of course!
  5. Also on the reel I started off with a fast reel geared in 7:1. But if you want something middle of the road for more techniques you can go 6.4:1. Abu Garcia revo s or sx are nice reels to look at.
  6. Like others have said, there are going to be some black Friday sales so now would be the time to pick one up. Look around and check out some reviews. You are probably going to start out worm or jig fishing so a rod thats 7 - 7'2 will cover a broad spectrum of techniques. Check out the Denali Kovert 7' mh or the Denali Jadewood 7' mh. I have both and they are great rods for the money in my opinion. Super sensitive and light.
  7. X's 3 on loctite. Gray bottle with blue sides
