  2. Bob, Welcome aboard from NY.
  3. I consider myself very lucky to be an American, and I am very proud to say that. Our American troops serve us and our great country, often putting thier lives in harm's way to protect our country and the ideals for which our country stands. Here's a way to show your support : Currently, the USO is running a special deal to get our troops individually supplied with a phone calling card to be able to call home with. For as little as a $15 dollar donation [which is deductible], you can buy a US soldier with a calling card good for 45 minutes calling time from locations like Iraq or Afganistan, so they can say helllo to thier families at home. AT&T has given a specially discounted rate, and the USO has provided a secure server to do such. It is a secure webssite, and I personally have already bought one, and plan on buying more. here's the link: www.usonyc.org/phonecard PLEASE help support our troops as they serve our great country by joining men this effort. God bless our troops, and please watch over them ! Regardless what your feelings are about these wars and those countries, please support our troops this way.
  4. Way to go, RoadWarrior !! Anxious to see the picture ! {not of yer mug, but of the fish--LMBO}
  5. Welcome aboard from NY from a fellow Cal-Delta Rat. I have fished out there a lot. Awesome fishing place !!

    Welcome aboard from NY.
  7. Welcome aboard from NY !
  8. Either Texas-rigged weightless Senko-style baits, or T-rigged weightless Super Flukes is what came to my mind immeadiately when I was reading your post. I'd use a 4/0 EWG-style hook in either one of them.
  9. Cool... Gald to see I am not the only one. {LOL} My wife and daughter think I am Frogging Crazy. All the birthday cards, Father's Day cards, and many gifts they give me now has a frog somehow in it, including my daughter gave me BullFrog sunscreeen to use. I bet a bunch of you have even caught big frogs on your frog lures, too, because they are indeed canabalistic, eating other frogs.
  10. Hey guys, I am new here and was wondering if there are any 'mini-meets' for members planned anywhere here in the northeast for 2010 ? Yeah, I saw the one in Pickwick, but my budget cannot afford that this year. Clue a guy in, please...
  11. ............................... Any of that stuff would get you ticketed in NY if you got caught, as it should. You're littering !! You do NOT own the waters, so don't throw stuff into it.
  12. I wish you all a safe trip and a great time. I wish I could attend, but my budget this year is absolutely stinko, so I will not be able to afford it this time due to the pitiful state of the economy. My wife lost her job, and my business is going REALLY tough times right now because NOBODY is spending. Are there any mini-meets or the such planned this year up in the northeast ???
  13. I live out on Long island NY, just easta bit from Kennedy Airport. I fish all over NY, NJ, and CONN, getting an annual fishing license for all three states. I get a a few other short-term fishing licences when I travel to CA, FLA, MO, TX, or other states Prey will vary from water to water. I fish seasonal patterns, so my lures and presentations will vary accordily. Throwing froggin' and rattin' baits is my nirvana !!
  14. Welcome aboard to the site !
  15. Connecticut DOUBLED all of it's fishing licenese fees this year, both for residents, and non-residents. I have heard there is a motion to change that. Anyone know a way how we can be heard about that ? Many other states have raised their fishing license fees as well, just not to that degree.
  16. ................ Done that already. They're sold nationally by a major firm in many retailers .[not gonna name brand] The American Cancer Society gets a check every year from a portion of the sales to fund breast cancer research, and I get a great feeling I have done something that may help to lead to the cure. I make NO money at all on them, nor do I work for that company. They were designed while my wife was battling Cancer 7 years ago, and I was home on a work sabbatical to nurse her back to health. She had been on the surgical table for over twelve hours in one day , with three surgical sites. Thank God, she has survived , and now she does volunteer counselling to women facing surgery for it . If the proceeds ultimately save even one woman from going through the physical and emotional hell my wife went through, I'll be a happy man. If those donations help to lead to the cure; I'll be thrilled and ecstatic. Pray for the cure in our lifetimes, please.
  17. Check your state's regulations. Many states have laws that you cannot throw ANYTHING, into public waters; it's considered illegal dumping usually.[Yes, even real trees]
  18. {seasonally current} I hate ice ! Come on Spring ! Pour me another . {LOL} .................................... {In fishing season} Go fishing often. Bring your kid. Set with authority. Learn from others. Have a license. Pass it on.[to the next generation] Carry toilet paper. Support your DEC. Report any poachers. Don't pollute waters. Throw trash away [not in the waters]. Give others respect ! ........................... {on the road} Check trailer lights !! Fill 'er up ! Check your axles Forgot the plug ?? Back in slowly. ....................... {At tournies} Get five fast. Cull fish carefully Check wells often. Measure your fish. Win a check.
  19. Tin, If you ever see a green-metalic dual-consoled ranger R72 that has gold trim on it, I am the well-rounded guy with a dark moustaiche on the front deck. It's got an evinrude 115 on the back of that 17 footer. NY numbers on the boat. Stop me and say hello, please. JFrancho, who did you fish with that day ? :
  20. Hey "Black bass", Is Lake Livingston northeast of Lake Fork, just south of a major interstate highway going east {Rt 40, I think, that runs out of Dallas ??}. A heated water...that is kind of cut in half, into a figure eight sort of shape ??
  21. Either get heavy rods and swing the fish into the boat, or use a net always when landing a fish. What waters are you fishing ?? I have fished Holiday Park, Lox, Sawgrass, some of the canals in the everglades, Big O, and Toho over the years.
  22. ....................... One of my buddies has a "bass tub" business, going to trade expos all overwitha 4000 gallon fish tank. He used to work the NYBoat Show in Manhattan, at which I also worked there, but in a different booth. He let me stick ONE fish in the tank there once, and dang, in the middle of New Years week when that show was running, when our waters are typically frozen, it fealt GREAT !!
  23. Hmmm, you MUST know me ... har, har, har !!!
  24. Work gets in the way....LOL !!! So do so many other things. So many lures; so little time to fish !!
  25. If you have never fished the Cal-Delta, I sure hope you have GPS in your boat !!! Depending on where you're fishing while out there, you can catch LMs, SMs, Spotted Bass, or Stripers there.
