He's Back !!
Been absent from here for some time due to a lot of activities, many which were volunteer fund-raising. I have becomea life-long volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and have been involved this year witha few fund-raisiers for them, requiring MUCH of my time. First, I was on the planning and staging commitee to bring "Relay for Life" to my small villageof Malverne, NY on Long Island. We raised over $25,000 at this innaugural event held in our town, I am very proud to report. "Relay for Life" memorializes those that we have lost due to Cancer, honors those tht have fought it and beat it, and supports those currently battling Cancer. My wife is a nine-year survivor of Breast Cancers that had spread into her Lymph Nodes. First surgery, then 6 months of Chemo... Thank God, she survived it all, and now she and I do much counselling and volunteer fund-raising for the ACS. My second big time consumer was I hosted the second annual "Fish for the Cure" fishing tourney on Candlewood Lake on June 3rd, and we raised over $6100 that day as 23 teams of Bass anglers brought their best five fish to the scales. On top of that, my life has entered anew stage, that of being a grandfather, something that thrills me to no end, and has brought great happiness to me. Sweet little Gabriella is the apple of my eyes now, and gets much of my attention [and time]. I want to wish you all a HAPPY FATHERS DAY !!

What frog do you use?
SnagProof Bobby's Perfect or Snagproof's BassKicker Frogs for me. Both work great...and they are MADE IN THE USA. Not many others can say that... I don't have enough time in with the Ish's Phat Frog yet, but it looks very promising with the floatation chamber now not requiring the squeezing being the sale point of that. Personally, while I do have to squeeze the frogs after a few casts[ like I have to do with other brand frogs too] to expel water, it has never really bothered me that much to do so. Given a choice, I buy AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS if they are as good and as inexpensive as others, like the SnagProof's are. It's a family-run business based in OHIO, not some big conglomerate nor a foriegn company like the others are. And yes, they answer the phone and you can speak to the VP or Pres anytime you call them. GREAT customer service there !!!

Stainless prop for a 9.9 HP motor, is it worth it?
For the conditions you have described , DO NOT get the stainless steel prop. The stainless is far less forgiving when you hit something, and you will do damage to your lower unit instead[and you do NOT want that to happen, trust me].

Smallies in Upstate NY
............. There's only one launch for Lake Lonely that I know of, and it's privately owned. You can launch from it, but they do charge you, and it's not paved.. I have never launch a big boat from there myself, only car-toppers.

ponds specific strategies
I fish for fun, and NOTHING is as exhilerating to me as fishing a frog in ponds. If that does not excite you, check your pulse; I think you died. When Ol' Miss Bighead comes up and crushes the frog , well, I am in my Nivana then.

LH or RH for flipping
I am right-handed. I have far more sensitivity and strength in my right hand, so I hold my baitcaster rods in my right hand, and let my 'stupid' left hand do the cranking work. It has to earn it's keep.
