  1. Try this. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=sliding+weight++crawfish&_sacat=See-All-Categories
  2. Instead of running the craw through with a hook why not strap it to a double hook from a dissected plastic frog using a small zip tie ? Stabbing it with a hook will surely weaken it.
  3. I've had very good luck with the Yum Dancin' Eel. I need another.
  4. Mustn't forget the helicopter lure. I actually caught fish on it. One I think. :
  5. I finished building my 16' Duracraft today. The temperature was in the mld fifties. Winter is about to break here in central Mississippi. I've been looking forward to getting the boat out to see how it would do. I need a better TM but other than that its ready for a seasons fishing. Also caught a couple of hogs. Caught em on a chartreuse chatter bait. Tried bubble gum and bullfrog they only liked chartreuse. I was fishing in a brake only 3' deep which means limited possibilities. At least I shook off the bait monkey. Cheers
  6. Don't know the name. It was a diving lure. It ran on 2 watch batteries. It had blinking red eyes. I cast it a few times. it hung, > I lost it. Good riddance!
  7. I'm going fishing today. That's the only way to stop me! :-[
  8. Nice thread. Drop shot will work if nothing else will. Good luck!
  9. The sliding weight craw folds up and the pinchers have air bubbles so they stand up in a defensive position.
  10. Crawdads are my favorite. The craw your looking for is the SLIDING WEIGHT CRAWFISH http://cgi.ebay.com/6-SLIDING-WEIGHT-4-CRAWFISH-FISHING-LURES-WMS-KIT_W0QQitemZ150291619222QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Sport_Fishing_Tackle?hash=item22fe141d96
  11. Vibratory brass cleaner does great.
  12. What about FishGillz? http://fishgillz.com/index.shtml
  13. Every body has got cold wet weather. I was lucky to get to work on the boat and practice casting this afternoon. Cheers

That's a good idea i'll check into it.
  16. Drop shot weights, what style and weight do pick?
  17. I've always liked Quantum reels. I think Quantum defines you get what you pay for more than anything. Even the cheap Quantums will cast well but may last only 1 season before stripping.
  18. Thanks flippin and pitchin thats what I needed to know.
  19. I'm looking at Quantums on eBay. I 'm wondering which is the better? The Code has more bearings. Any feedback?

I know ziploc bags are cheap but I had some odd worms that dont warrant a seperate bag.
  21. While its winter I need to work on my knot skills. Esp surgeon or leader knots. Any suggestions besides practice? Any special tool that help? Thanks OWL

I sharpen new hooks too using a dremel tool. Some of the hooks are special purpose double hook for tying live craws on with a small zip tie and a drop shot . That way it wont injure and kill the craw. Last year we were checking what was said to be a HOT oxbow lake that produced huge bass. It was in mid summer and the temp were pretty high. There was lots of timber and it looked easy but we couldn't catch with softbaits. My friend started catching small bass next to the bank in 1' of water on a buzzbait. Not what we were after. Since I didn't have my fish finder I had to figure it out my self. The high temps had driven the fish deep into cooler water "on the bottom". The fish could see what we were throwing at em. So we slowed it down. I put on a bright 10"worm with a texas rig. The fish were so deep and slow. I think the worm was bumping them then they would bite. That would be a perfect situation to throw a live craw strapped to a special double hook with a dropshot weight . Should make those lazy bass happy. Can't weight to try it out.
  23. I'm guessing I'll get more that one over 10#. Might get a 12#. Its going to be a good year! ;D

I've been sharpening hooks. Some were red, black or chrome. I need to refinish some with a permanent marker. Which do you think is best red or black. Reason I ask. I use Cajun red or optix and the red is suppose to make the line disappear but the red hooks are suppose to make the bait look wounded and bleeding : So which do you prefer red, black or shiny?
