  1. I have been deep cranking with them and they work great for deep cranking as well. Sure it may take a tad more work, but I can cover water quick, and I don't have a reel that's only good for one thing! 7:1 reels truly are great for everything. Your kids are incredible at picking out gifts! WHY you just have to turn the handle slower? 7.x reels are great for just about everything except swimbaits and deep cranks. Your wrists will be hurting.
  2. Good luck throwing large spinnerbaits. Your wrists will be hurting.
  3. Just remember. If it ain't broke, .... it will be.
  4. I'm fishing out of R72 Sport right now. Nice boat but could be larger.
  5. Had the same situation with 10 LB Trilene XL. After two lost lures, I ditched the remainder of the spool and bought anew. Many have had that experience with other line brands as well.
  6. Fished it a couple of years ago. Skunk city. Employee at Hoosier Hills Marina said Patoka sees sixty plus bass tournaments a year. If you go, better throw something the bass ain't seen.

  11. The Rage Tail Shad was a big bust for me this past year. Zip, nada, no ah ah. Every top water bite I got was on the pause with Spooks, puppys and frogs.
  12. We used to call them "Puddle Pirates."
  13. Then what kind of boat cover should I be getting? Good info. here. http://www.that-covers-it.com/boat-cover-fabrics.html
  14. There are boat covers for different applications, storage, trailering and are made of different materials. If your boat sits in the driveway with a trailer type cover, you will have moisture issues.
  15. Ranger Customer Service is +1. I've got a '96 and when you need a thingy, they got it.
  16. I recently fished with a guide that had to pinch one off. He said, "either back to the dock and lose a half hour of fishing or right here, it's your choice." I told him go for it and he dropped the kids off in the lake.
  17. 6" Chartreuse
  18. Fish around the islands on Kent Lake and you'll be on LM's.
  19. I know it's a stretch but call and make an appointment at Lockeman's in Detroit. They are excellent at diagnosing and repairing Johnson Outboards. They actually listen to what you say and their prices are fair. I had a similar problem with my '96 Johnson Fast-Strike. Turned out to be a carb sync issue. http://www.lockemans.com/
  20. In Florida, St. Johns River with this guide. Great opportunity to score a double digit LM. http://www.bobstonewater.com/index.htm
  21. 5.25 on a inland lake in Michigan.
  22. This place in Michigan has used Tritons and Rangers. http://www.boattrader.com/browse/make/triton/michigan
  23. Had a similar problem on my V-4 Johnson (same motor minus 2 cylinders.) Sync. carbs.
