  1. Member here. My favorite article is "A Day On The Lake." It's where a pro angler is taken to an unknown body of water. I find it surprising how often so few fish are caught.
  2. Anyone know what causes these spots? Additional pics here: (Michigan-Sportsman site) http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=256750&highlight=black+spots
  3. For me it has to be the Fat Ika. I've fished it every which way for three years. Zip. Let the pain begin.
  4. Bustin' yours, savin' ours. Thanks.
  5. I'm heading up there next spring in mid May. I'll be with a veteran of that water but in separate boats. I must say I'm concerned about boat damage. Some say rent a boat on sight. Others say go for it. What say you? I say use your own boat, but just take it slow. If you bust a prop on the rental then you need to buy a new one anyways. Thanks for the feedback.

  7. Favorite - reverse clinch. A real quick tie for spinner baits and weighted Texas rigged worms. http://basssense.com/2007/07/21/fishing-tips-by-alton-jones-reverse-clinch-knot-video/
  8. e5 on the way via eBay. ($139.52) out the door
  9. Same thing happened to me last Sunday and again yesterday. Breakage was at the reel. Reel and rod guides are fine. I was using Trilene XL 8lb. I'm now looking at the other post. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1222128536 No additional help there.
  10. My boat/motor came with a StingRay stabilizer. Ran very well. After having some engine work done, the tech. mentioned that stabilizers are usually a band-aid for other performance issues and suggested that I remove it. Well I did and lost 10 MPH, about 1700 RPM and boat pulled hard left. Needless to say I re-installed the StingRay and all is well again. I suppose I could have worked with the tech. on various motor heights but heck I'm within 2 MPH of MAX top speed.
  11. Wacky Senko Swam a single tail grub (thanks RW)
  12. BPS web site is definitely in slow mo. Almost as slow as their shipping. Still waiting after two weeks. Their order history is a joke. Shows nothing.
  13. Bought my first bass boat 2 years ago. The previous owner was kind enough to take me through trailering, launching, motoring, trolling motoring and recovery. The best advice he gave me was to just plain slow down on everything you do regarding the boat. So far so good....Good luck with your boat.
  14. Do you think a goby style bait (poor boys drop shot goby) would be successful on an inland lake that likely doesn't have a goby population? This northern lake is clear and approx. 2000 acres with a max depth of 16'. There are several breaks from 4' to 10' and 10' to 16' with a river and creek feed on the west and east ends. Some gravel exists on one large point. Just thinking the smallies may enjoy something different.
  15. Thanks. You just saved me a hundred.
  16. Got a '96 Ranger R-72 Sport in need of a couple of live well flapper valves. I'm pretty sure Ranger doesn't carry these parts anymore. Are there any other sources that may have the parts and will sell retail?
  17. Anyone have experience with this product? http://www.kwikdrop.com/index2.html

I save my raggedy t-rigged senkos and wacky rig them with o-rings. Kinda of 2 for 1.
  19. 32° in SE Michigan. Didn't stop the Walleye boys. Saw 20+ boats this morning on the lower Detroit River.
  20. If your motor has a foot pedal, the directional indicator may be 180 degrees out.
  21. This link covers it all. http://www.fishin.com/articles/BassCoach/wildshiners.htm
  22. I have been fishing the lake for about 3 or 4 years. And the lake has always been hard to catch fish. Someone replied an didn't know where I lived. I live in Northern Mississippi. I have seen several suggestions to use shiners. I will have to read up on a good presentation for shiners. I have little or no experience with live bait. I am new to this forum and I have learned so much within this first day of reading posts and replies. There is such a difference in opinions about bass fishing across the readers of these forums. Everyone has a differenct view and brings something unique to the table. Good info here. http://www.fishin.com/articles/BassCoach/wildshiners.htm
  23. Thinking of getting a pair for my Ranger trailer. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  24. And half the lube ends up on the floor.
