Danica ??
Excellent post!

Johnson/Knaus
I watch almost every NASCAR race and either go to Daytona or Homestead at leat once a year. I have no FAVORITE driver. I look at each race, qualifying and who's doing what that weekend..........Then I root for 2-3 drivers to do well. There's a few drivers I don't really care for but I even root for them sometimes, based on my mood. Right now, I'd like to see a few teams give Jimmy and Chad some heartburn.

Since the Danica thread is such a success.......... ;D I really think the Jimmy/Chad combo is impressive as hell. They have the game down to a science. I don't think ANYONE could possibley knock their success. That said, I'm getting tired of seeing such a dominant team. I'm not saying anything is wrong or something should be changed, I'd just like to see someone come along a knock them down a few pegs. Will he make it 5?? Sheesh :-/

Post your ride
I test drove a Camaro before I bought my BMW. I wasn't impressed at all. The SS version that I drove just didn't have a quality feel or details that I would expect at that price range. They were charging MSRP at the time, maybe they've come down since then.

>>> NASCAR mandates that all Cup cars must weigh 3400 pounds, including the driver and all of his safety gear, when the cars enter sanctioned competition. All cars are inspected and weighed by NASCAR prior to any type of competition<<< I heard them say that they figure her weight at 125lbs all suited up. I'd have to guess she probably weighs 100-105lbs nekkid Any weight the can put lower in the car like around the frame rails would be a SLIGHT advantage.

All good points. Having no stock car experience, you cannot expect instant good results. I'll stick with my grade and add a A for effort.

Danica ??
How would you rate her first 3 races?? I'd give her a B-. It would seem that any of the good NASCAR guys could have swerved and avoided that wreck yesterday.......Even spinning through the grass probably would have resulted in a better outcome.

Bass Players
Of the various P basses I have, there are two favorites. This old Aria "Primary" bass is set up with LaBella Flatwound strings. It was made in the Matsumoku factory in the early 80's and has a FAT P bass neck that I just love. It's been played hard over the years but still sounds fantastic. It also has a custom wound Fralin pickup.

Cool!! Nice BC Rich!! Nice hair!!!! The bass is long gone, fortunately, the hair has remained. My situation worked out exactly the opposite ;D I had several BCR's but the best one I had was an American made Eagle. I even had Neal Moser sign the truss rod cover. He was the man at BC Rich behind their famous electronics back in the day and now builds his own line of custom guitars and basses. This is a bass that I should have kept.....REALLY should have kept :-/ Did you find the Rich heavy or heavier than it should be? thanks It weighed exactly 11lbs so it was certainly on the heavy side. With a wide foam strap it hung nicely and sounded amazing. I've owned my share of pointy, 80's basses and never really had a problem with any of them balancing. It just takes some getting used to.

I had two Ibanex Axstars over the years. They were supposed to be Ibanezes answer to Steinberger. The Axstars were really nice basses, probably ones I should have kept. They were full scale and took regular strings and were VERY well made. I just love the 80's Japan basses.

I've bought quite a few preowned basses on the TalkBass forum. Buying preowned from reputable sellers keeps the cost down and allows me to try a lot of different basses. I've probably bought and sold at least 50 basses over the past 5 years. What I have now are all pretty much keepers. What I find amazing is cost is usually not a consideration when looking for quality and tone. Most of the basses I own now are under or even well under $500. All my expensive customs have gone and I really have no interest in buying anymore. I recently bought a full scale size, Squier bullet bass with a CV ( '83 Japan) era serial number. It will hang with ANY American Fender in build quality, playability and sound. I paid $250 plus shipping for it. I need to upload more pics to my website.

I sold this Mike Lull P5. I've just given up with 5 strings and it went for a while getting no love This bass was amazing considering it weighed under 8 lbs!!
