is hunting with a AR or m16 cheating?
Most states have a magazine capacity rule for hunting. IMHO, hunting with a black rifle is fine if you use the required lower capacity magazines. .223 is not a very good deer round but these days there are plenty of AR's built for much larger calibers. An AR10 in .308 would be perfect. The "Going Rambo" concept as a hunter probably won't earn you points with most respectable, law abiding hunters

Malt Liquor or shootin' iron?? ;D

Never appreciated the anti-political/religious forum rules more than today
They often intertwine. It's almost impossible to have one without the other. Just consider the politics and differences regarding religion just between our two political parties.

carry firearms while fishing?
This is true and you make a good point. The problem is, even at the busiest boat ramp in Florida (Camp Mack), someone tried to pry my truck door open in broad daylight. It can happen anywhere

No Luck with Lipless Crankbaits
For some reason, I NEVER have any good results fishing lipless crackbaits around central Florida. I can bring them up to my buddies lake in MS and catch bass from the dock with no problem Here at home, I can't make them do anything for me. In tournaments, I can fish right next to someone having good results with one and still nothing but maybe a dink or two > Any tips, lures, colors, tactics, patterns would be much appreciated. I'm Rattletrap challenged

carry firearms while fishing?
Since I don't work a regular job, I sometimes go into the swamp on monday mornings to pick up my friends stray hog dogs. Nothing is more intimidating than an airboat full of pitbulls and American bulldogs when I get to the boat ramp. They all behave and love people but the first reaction for many is to run ;D After spending a night in the swamp, all they want to do is go home and eat so getting them into the truck isn't very hard.

TRON was a strange movie but being a SciFi fan, I'm sure I'll check it out

carry firearms while fishing?
I often talk with the guys from the local PD and Sheriffs Dpt. They tell me that vehicle break ins and small time robberies are up considerably. People are more desparate these days. I'll be paying more attention to where I park my rig this season.

amazing!!
I build and fly RC Helis and "Foamy" 3D planes. It's amazing what the scale guys can do. I just never had the patience for that stuff :-/ I like to fly more than I like to build

Never appreciated the anti-political/religious forum rules more than today
Those forum areas can get really ugly. Either that or they end up so overmoderated that you have to walk on thin ice in order make a point. On my custom knife and gun forum we have a no politics/religion rule as well, unless it has to do with knife and gun legislation. Sometimes we let something slide if it doesn't seem like it will blow up

carry firearms while fishing?
We've had people get jacked up at some of our local boatramps in the early morning and late evening. I carry all the time anyway so packing while fishing is nothing any different. Better to have it and not need it

American Chopper is no more
I'm a lifelong Harley nut/owner and like the look of certain choppers. I just never cared for THEIR style. Hopefully Rick can make a go of it on his own with his retro style bikes. Heck, they should give Rick and Vinny a show, they were the tallent at OCC AFAIC :

Sebile Spin Shad
I picked up several of them to try in 3 3/4" and 4.5 size. I also bought a few of their surface lures. Both the *** and Ghost Walker REALLY works well and walk like crazy. I also have a third topwater that I forgot the name of and haven't tried it yet. I'm sure all their lures will work well in the right conditions, they are made VERY well.

Boat size: 18' 8" vs 20'
I think it really depends on what kind of tournaments and lakes you'll be on. I've spent many years fishing out of my friends various 20'+ tournament boats. While they are comfortable and fast, I went with an 18' V hull aluminum with a 115 motor. It's very stable, it can go though very shallow water and gas doesn't cost a fortune. For the local tournaments we fish, it's just fine. I don't get upset of I bump and bang it around in some of the "thick" areas we fish in. While being able to go faster, 50mph gets us around lakes like Toho and Kissmmee just fine for recreational fishing. With the money I saved over a big boat, I bought a Harley

Pimp My Ride
IMHO, you would be MUCH happier with adding a floor that would support a swivel seat. That will make landing fish and standing to cast or flip MUCH easier. I've seen guys build up decks as you described only to take them back out again after a few days on the water.

Issues with new Optimax 115 ELPTO
I just bought a new Tracker V-18 and 115 Merc Optimax this summer. After about 10 hours on the motor it began to run rough........then worse. For various reasons, bringing it back to the Tracker service center in Orlando was my last preferred option so I tried the usual fixes myself.......first. I drained the fuel tank, changed the fuel filter and checked for loose connections, etc. A few weeks ago, we ran the entire length of Toho almost flat out and thought the problem was cured. Heading back into the boat ramp it started to run horribly again :-/ It's very strange in that it will either run perfectly OR bog down and run like CRAP I get no alarms when this is happening. The fuel lines from what I can tell are not restricted or clogged in any way. There is no fuel line filter, just the one on the motor. Last week, I towed the boat up to the service center in Orlando. I hate to say it but, my faith them over the years had dwindled but I'm hoping to get lucky and it will be a simple fix. I thought I would try ONCE to get it fixed under the warantee before I bought it somewhere else. Any thoughts, suggestions or related information would be greatly apprecaited. Back when it was running good and everyone was smiling

Ya......... On sunday, I stopped by Laker Parker here in Lakeland to look at the boat ramp and the windsurfers were having a blast. Parker is still down, not quite as far as a month ago but still pretty low :-/ you normally fish from bank or boat in lakeland? cause i cant seem to find a place tofish from the bank in lakeland or winter haven Saddle Creek Park has plenty of places to fish from the shore. It's on 92, between Auburndale and Lakeland.

Camp Mack Resort
yeah, but didnt they hit 10 boats that night? whoops, thankfully i was sleeping on the deck of mine! About two years ago, someone tried to pry the passenger side door open on my old truck. I was the first car parked next to the fence right by the boatramp and it was done in broad daylight > If I ever do an overnight, I'll be sleeping on my boat too
