Let's Hear it Boys
I just gave fireline a try, and I don't like it at all. I've been using 30lb PP but I am definitely switching back to PP and moving up to 50lb.

Florida: What's up with all the Tilapia?
Ewww...I wouldn't eat any Tilapia out of the ponds I fish around my area. Most of the ponds are full of fertilizer run off from the houses around the ponds.

Line For Weightless T-Rigs
@Raul: It's the Chromica B, and I bought it at the beginning of last year. For me, it's an awesome reel to pitch with. But thanks for the advice everyone. I guess I just need to play around with line to see what works best for me. I just don't want to dish out $10+ every time I want to try a new line.

Line For Weightless T-Rigs
Thanks Raul...I've been told to try a M action rod for my worming. I don't really think this is an issue of practicing either, because my reel does not do this with heavier lures. I just feel my equipment isn't suited to work well with weightless Senkos. I fished all my worms for the past year and a half with a MH/Greenwater and never had this issue, even though I was using a lower level reel. I feel the Citica should handle better than my Chromica.

Line For Weightless T-Rigs
Thanks Beaver...I've been working on my wrist, and I don't think thats too much of an issue anymore...This issue is more noticeable with my Citica/Reese Jig/Worm setup than my Chromica/Greenwater setup. Maybe I should switch my Citica over to my Loomis Rod to see if it makes any difference. I am kinda wondering if it would have been better to wait and invest in the IMX or Champion I've been drooling over.

Line For Weightless T-Rigs
I posted a topic about my line "jumping" on the cast a few weeks ago, and I'm still having the issue. I use 30lb PP for fishing weightless plastics. Today I was told to try something lighter, and I went with 14lb Fireline off a recommendation. I'm still having the same issue, and not to mention the line left my hands and rod black. I've added brakes, adjusted my spool tension, and nothing seems to work. Does anyone else have suggestions? I love PP, but would fluro work better? Maybe a lighter or heavier PP? What line do you guys use for weightless T-Rigs (mostly Senkos)? Sorry, I had to vent somewhere.

Citica 200E
I've always fished lower end Shimano reels (Crestfire and Chromica) and I finally "broke the bank" about a month ago and invested in a Citica. The difference between the reels is unbelievable. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I bet the jump from a Black Max to even the Revo S would be pretty noticeable. I bought the Revo first, but I returned it for the Citica because like you, I fish a lot of t-rigs and soft baits. Everyone I talked to said the Citica can handle unweighted plastics better than the Revo. I love the Citica, but my next reel will definitely be a Curado.

Whats the best bank fishing in Jacksonville, FL??
Surprisingly, I've never fished any of those parks. Bethesda is a fish management area, so the fishing might be good there. I live out at the beach, so most of those areas are a hike for me. I do fish Davis Park quite a bit, and last summer and fall the fished seemed to bite anything. I haven't had much luck this year, but I'm hoping the warm weather will change that. I fished the area I told you about for about three hours on Saturday morning and didn't get a single bite. I think I threw everything in my tackle bag. You might want to give the other places a shot.

Local Pits ON FIRE!!

Whats the best bank fishing in Jacksonville, FL??
Well the outdoor shop that is there has a dock they let customers test run kayaks from. They won't let you fish there during business hours, but I try to wake up early and get there before they open. If that doesn't work, you can fish from the other side in the apartment complexes. I usually throw Senkos and tubes, and the biggest fish I've pulled out of there was 4.5, but I've talked to guys who've been fishing it for years and they said on numerous occasions they've caught 10+lb fish. Hope this helps

florida Post spawn
haha bassin fanatic...i've found some nice little holes tucked away in some of the neighborhoods. The fishing is really good during spawn, but i try to avoid the areas that are over fished. Unfortunately I don't have a boat, so I'm pretty limited to where I can fish.

Tampa, Fl Bass Fishing Lakes
I found this site with a good amount of useful information: http://www.stpete.org/parks/fishing.asp I fished crescent "lake" (way too small to be consider a lake) and there are some decent sized fish there. I'm too busy with school at the moment, but once summer is here I plan on doing some major pond hopping in the area.

Whats the best bank fishing in Jacksonville, FL??
There's a small lake behind a store called Black Creek Outfitters on the corner of Gate Parkway/J Turner Butler... Probably my favorite shore fishing in Jax. Sawgrass, where the PGA tournament is held, is also a great place for bass fishing.

If you head over 275, downtown St. Pete has some really great stocked ponds. I do most of my bass fishing in the Bradenton/Sarasota area when I visit my gf. I also check out google maps before I head out to find areas with ponds that I may have overlooked before.

T-Rig Plastics Rod Question
I fish mostly soft plastics (worms) and all my rods are MH. So you guys are saying I'd have better accuracy and casting distance with a M rod?
-
Temple Fork Loomis
I agree Big Fruits, I wonder how they will compare with similar rods in its price range.

Has anyone seen these rods? Are they new? http://www.***.com/Temple_Fork_Gary_Loomis_Signature_Casting_Rods/descpage-TFGLC.html

Which Wright & McGill Skeet Reese Tessera Rod?
I have the 7'2" Jig/Worm rod and I have been putting it to the test the last two weeks. I like it so far, but if you fish other rods, be prepared to notice a big difference. I didn't understand why everyone stated they were "heavy" rods until I switched between the Skeet Rod and my Loomis. The rod seems to perform well with cranks and spinners, but I'm not to sure if I'll buy another one.

Line is "Jumping" on cast
well first of Volfan...we did shut Kiffin up real fast, and you must have amnesia for forgetting tuesday night lol But thanks for the info, I guess that makes sense...I noticed my control improved when i didnt try to launch my bait a mile...I did get some backlash because I have to cast short distances backhand...i think a 5 year old can flip and pitch better than me...but i didnt think the line should jump and backlash like that when i cast...i guess i'll try some heavier lures and see if the issue contines ps-its always fun to do some sec smack talk...no offense intended

Line is "Jumping" on cast
Hey guys, I just bought a new Citica and went out and fished with it today for a few hours. I have three brakes on and made sure my tension was so my lure dropped at a slow pace. I was fishing the bigger 6" worm from Gander, and when I cast the lure out, my line seemed to jump off at the beginning and then became smooth for the remainder of the cast. I'm using 30lb Power Pro and I'm wondering why this is happening? Shouldn't the cast be smooth from the get go? Or is this an issue of my casting, and the ability for citicas to throw unweighted worms well? Anything would help, thanks.

Skeet Reese Rods!
Haha, I actually went and bought one today...the 7'2'' Jig/Worm rod and gave it a test run today...I paired it up with my Citica and it felt great. I stayed out for about 2 hours in 50 degree weather with gusts that were knocking my hat off my head. I wanted to see how well it would hold up casting into the wind, and it performed beyond my expectations (both reel and rod). Can't wait to get out there when the conditions are better.

What rod is duckett using??
@jerkw i'd agree with you 100%...I only fish with one rod, because that's all i can afford as a student. I do all my fishing from shore lines and I do more walking than fishing on most days. I had to purchase a little speed bag for worms because i get tired of carrying my tackle bag through woods and long distances. Its hard to buy a $220 rod and use it for only one specific technique.
