  1. good idea. ill try that. my paint problems have not been limited to the chrome colors as others have stated on other threads. i had a red one that the paint came off and a shad one too. and of course the sexy shad chrome. id be ticked but then i got some xcaliburs this winter and the first time out the eyes fell off. next time out... the other lures eyes fell off. in grass. the first one didnt even catch a fish..not even a bite.. the second one two undersized crappie and a dink bass. i wonder what im doing to them. lol I had a brand new XR50 lose an Eye the first time I took it fishing > I popped off the other eye and put on some new ones with super glue behind them.
  2. I do the same steps above. But I use different products but that is some good advise. If you have a reel break during a trip than you must be using some cheap equipment or extremely rough on your gear. I grease/oil my reels every season. Just did my late spring cleaning on all my reels
  3. I started coating mine with clear finger nail polish, It really helps with the chrome baits.
  4. 50lb Test 12lb dia. ??? That seems huge! No, its right. 20# braid is for a spinning outfit. Personally, I would never put 20lb braid on a casting reel. Would you put 6lb test mono on your reel? Probably not, so why put braid with the same diameter on there? Go up to 50-65lb braid with the diameter of 12-15lb mono. The heavier braid is stronger, easier to manage, and I believe easier to cast on casting reels. Well I am gonna go with the Sufix in 50lb then that sounds good to me
  5. I like stiffer braid too. I can't stand getting wind knots and the stupid line wrapped around the tip > I may try a spool of each and see which I like Better
  6. WOW I hope I am half as good as that when I really get into painting
  7. Where do you get JJ's just through their website directly?
  8. ^^ I'm with stupid . I am a huge fan of their crankbaits mainly b/c of the price point
  9. That is my biggest pet peeve about braid fishing soft baits > So does the fireline only come in black? I would rather have it in green if I could just so it blends better in the water IMO What is the claim to fame with the 5 strands? Rounder or stronger or something of that nature?
  10. I have the Roboworm small curl tail in MMIII it is great for shaky heads and finesse applications I wanna try their craw imitation it looks great!
  11. Sounds Like Sufix Performance Is the way to go right now. Any Others? Like I said before I've been a loyal Power Pro man and willing to have an open mind this time around
  12. 50lb Test 12lb dia. ??? That seems huge!
  13. You using the moss green ? I only use that mainly. Theres the first vote keep it coming!
  14. I agree I love my SX and I became super familar with it quick
  15. My SX I have the brakes set about 1/4 the way on and use my spool tension to work it out. I mainly through crankbaits on mine. I get it so that they fall very slow when I release the spool or so the don't fall at all. I hope this helps :-/
  16. Ok so after using Powerpro from the beginning I am gonna change it up a bit and be open minded on different brands of braid. I will not use Spiderwire stealth though I have used that once (gift from a friend) I personally thought it was junk So what do you guys recommend. I will be using this for a t-rig, carolina rig, just mainly soft bait stuff. Actually soft baits only. I do a ton of t-rig stuff with the set up I have. I am swaping my blackmax out for a citica 200E. I wanna go with 20lb braid or so. We have a ton of man made structure we put out in the lake and I wanna get them out as quick as possible. And abrasion resistance. Thanks Guys! I love this site. I've been fishing my whole life and I am learning more & more here
  17. yeah well I got skunked on the deep bass that is what I was really concerned with. That bass in my avatar pic is 6.85lbs ;D
  18. My Dad and I load up on bulk lead at our local mom & pop wheel/tire store. They want it out of there most of the time and its sometimes cheaper. But Lead is getting ridiculous now
  19. Well I fished this morning with my good ole' Gamakatsu Shaky Head with the YUM Paddle Tail Watermelon Red Worm I caught some fish in the shallows like always. But the air temp started to warm up in the upper 60's mid 70's. The water temp was 73*. I was marking a ton of fish on our man made structure about 7ft down. They were suspended on these and on the humps. I couldn't get these fish to bite?? I was wondering what you guys would recommend? I was throwing a shad rap that dove to ~ 9ft and throwing the series 3 SK Crankbait in Sexy Shad. The water clarity was ~3ft. I also tried a SK Rage Tail Anaconda in Waterm. Candy down there and nothing. I then threw a Rapala Wild Shiner (I think) in the ghost minnow color. NOTHING! HELP what's some suggestions???? Thanks Boys 8-)
