Hey guys, my speedometer quit working on my 2005 Tracker 175 / with 50 horse mercury. I'm confused about being told that there is a small hole on the motor that might be plugged but have also been told that it is something that should be on the transom near my transducer. I can't find a little hole on the engine so I thought one of you would know. Thanks, Kevin

Thanks MD for the information. I received my information from a tackle shop that had a hand out with some information but not what the DNR had in mind. All I know is that there are great bass in there. I fished the lake in May and caught alot of nice bass.

I don't know but there are some great bass in there. I will try to find out what the DNR plans are. (actually the DNR is just helping the 2 counties who run the lake) But I believe back in the 90's when they did this they just killed all of the fish to eliminate the shad population.

I kind of like the idea of being able to change out handles etc. I think the Revo shop thing might be what other companies start doing also.

I agree with Wdy on this one. I think it is just to let the fish get a hold of the bait before setting the hook.

Indiana anglers please speak up. West Boggs is on tap to be drained and restocked in 2014 for the purpose of increasing the blue gill population. The board says that the park has been losing money because the blue gill fishermen aren't fishing there because it isn't as good as it once was. The problem is that it is an excellent bass lake. My 2 personal best largemouths have been taken from there the past 3 years and the largemouths are footballs in that lake. There are tournaments held there during a short period of the year with usually great results. Indiana doesn't have alot of great largemouth lakes so the ones we do have we need to protect. There will be meetings about this issue in the future so I will keep updating this and let you know who we need to e-mail and file complaints with.

Yeah, the brass is all they make as far as I know. I'll look around but I haven't seen the black. I love the hooks though.

I've been changing out my hooks for a long time and I use Excalibur Rotating Hooks. I've also tried Gamakatsu and the KVD Mustad short shanks. I will stick to the Excaliburs since I very rarely ever lose a fish with them and they are priced right.

Yeah, i usually don't have issues with rebates but they shouldn't state 4 to 6 weeks and not follow through with it. I received an e-mail today that they may have sent it to the wrong address but they actually had the wrong reels listed from an earlier rebate. Apparently, they didn't read my e-mail very closely because it stated Chronarchs and they found an old Citica order.

Well, if you want to let companies to get over on you that's fine, but for me, if they have listed on the form wait 4 to 6 weeks then I expect to get the rebate between 4 to 6 weeks. The longer companies hold on to that money means they are making money off of it. That's why they like to use rebates. That and some people don't send them in.

Well, I am hoping to get an issue I am having with them worked out as we speak. I'm waiting on an answer from Dan about the Shimano rebates that I am suppose to get after buying 3 Chronarchs. They had on the rebate form to expect the return in 4 to 6 weeks. It's already been over 8 weeks and I haven't heard anything yet. Its also been 4 days since I talked to Dan and haven't heard anything from him either. I know they are probably using an outside source to work on the rebates but it still is Shimanos responsibility to make sure their customers are receiving their rebates.

I've got Shimano Chronarchs, Abu Garcia Revos and now the Lew's Speed Spool. I bought the Lews just to see how it would compare. ($99.00 model) So far I can honestly say that the Lews has performed as well as the Shimanos and the Garcias. So much that I bought 2 more of the Lews. I can't believe what you get for $99.00. A steal if they last for years. And I have worked my first reel very hard so far.
