  1. Thanks guys for giving me some ideas to look at.
  2. I have 2 Dobyns Savvy rods that I use for pitching and I love them.
  3. Hey guys got a tough one that I can't figure out. It's an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Five Star Round Reel. When casting there is a fairly loud clicking sound which doesn't seem to effect the cast itself but it is annoying. You don't hear any noise on the retrieve. I've completely disassembled, cleaned and re-lubed but still have the noise on the cast. It's not a whining sound like a bearing just a clicking sound. Any ideas? Thanks.
  4. That's exactly what it was like. Looked like a snub nose. She still was a beauty and I believe she was so big in the stomach because the little cove she was in was absolutely loaded with bait fish. Guess I pitched my bait right in front of her snubbed nose.
  5. No, I should have but wanted to get her back in the water.
  6. Hey guys, Caught my biggest bass of the year yesterday / 19.5 inches almost 7 lbs. (Really fat) Once I grabbed her and pulled her in the boat, I noticed its nose was really short while its lower lip was normal. The rest of the fish was absolutely perfect. Have you guys seen this before? I did catch a smaller bass about 4 years ago that kind of looked like this but since the fish I caught yesterday was so big, it really made it look funny. Apparently it didn't affect it from eating!
  7. I know some of you have seen the new Live Target Bait Ball Crankbaits. Wow, those look sick.....who knows if they will work any better than normal crankbaits but d**n those are so cool. Totally different look from anything else out there. If you haven't seen them yet, check them out on their website.
  8. People who steal things need a good beat down. That's one thing I will not be very friendly about if I catch someone. Sorry to hear about your losses. Better to take everything you can inside when possible. Kind of pathetic that it is that way, but it is.
  9. Guys, I know this has happened to most of us who fish a lot. My tournament partner and I were practicing for an upcoming tournament and I had just caught a nice 3lb largemouth. After I put the fish back into the water, I put my rod under my arm so that I could adjust my hat. Well why adjusting my hat my new Dobyns Rod with a new 3rd generation Revo S dropped from under my arm straight into the water. I watched it disappear very quickly into about 12 feet of water. I looked at my partner and he said, "did you just drop your rod in the water"? My answer: yep. Anywho I picked up my other rod that had a lipless crank on it and tossed it out in hope of trying to snag it. Luck was with me, first try I snagged the line and up she came. Don't want that to happen again.
  10. I always use Mizuno batting gloves. Very soft and you still have a good feel when the fish bites.
  11. OOppps.....somebody beat me to it. LOL
  12. No but TackleTour just did a review of the 100. They seemed to like it for the price.
  13. Here is how I do mine. i just take the bags I will be using with me that day.
  14. Thanks J. You guys always have good solutions to problems.
  15. Thanks RM. You and J Franco always come through.
  16. this is the stradic 1000FE. Inside the roller clutch bearing there are about 6 mini springs and about 6-8 small cylindrical magnets. (not shown on the schematic) The anti-reverse cam and ring turn a key, which you can see on the bottom of the roller clutch. I don't know if the problem is within the clutch or if that has anything to do with it. I just can't figure it out.
  17. Guys, i have a shimano stradic 1000 spinning reel that has an anti reverse problem. The switch flips back and forth properly and the spring is in the correct position. When it is flipped either way the key in the roller clutch assembly moves but it still doesn't stop the reel like it should. Do you think the roller clutch assembly needs replaced? I know it has a lot of magnets and very small spings in there. Just need some advice on what the problem might be. Thanks as always.
  18. I had a booth at the Indy Boat Sport & Travel Show for 10 days and met a few pros and a lot of other fishing equipment enthusiasts. I have to comment on the few pros I talked with. First there was FLW pro Todd Hollowell. He was interested in my business and actually gave me some stuff to work on. He was a great guy who took time to talk to anyone who approached him. Next was Jacob Wheeler also an FLW pro who most of you know won the Forrest Wood Cup last year. Once again, great young guy who really gets it. And then i was able to talk to Joe Thomas for a short time. We discussed the upcoming season of Ultimate Match Fishing. He was busy but still took the time to talk to a lot of people. I had an absolute blast talking with all of the fisherman preparing for the spring thaw out here in Indiana. It was a great show with thousands of people attending.
  19. Yeah, I'm not saying that they won't replace them, just the fact that they have known about this problem for a long time and haven't tried to fix the issue by making the bills stronger. They could do it without it effecting the way the bait runs.
  20. I've got a booth at the Indy Boat, Sport & Travel Show this week and all I'm saying is the wife isn't going to be happy. There is so much tackle porn around there. I'm in heaven.

I can't believe Gambler isn't using Shimano's Garlic,Craw,Shad & Worm scents. Must have forgot about those! LOL
  22. Love the reel grips. I use them on all of my reels except the 2 Lews I have.
  23. Hey guys, Anyone use the Dobyns savvy series of rods? What do you think of them? I know Tackletour gave them a great rating but I thought I would get the fellas on Bassresource to give me their input. Input away!
  24. You can take a Norman crank and run over it with a tank. I don't want to have to baby a crankbait because the lips are made of some of the weakest plastic known to man. This was a known problem that was never fixed. And if you aren't bangin' your cranks against the bottom, rocks and stumps, you are missing a lot of fish.
