Suffix 832 "Superline"....yeah right
This about the 7th or 8th post I've seen about 832 in 30lb. I've got it on one reel in 50lb Neon lime, while I've fished it very little thus far, I've not had any issues to this point.

Fake Senkos?
You can tell, like someone said, by the tip. It'll be dimpled for the real deal, anything else is a copy, and yeah, there are counterfeit that are sold as GYCB. There's a guy here in NE that is guilty of it.

wacky worm hook choice
It is indeed. I got 2x 5 packs from the rep this morning and fished them today. My new favourite wacky/dropshot hook.

What shaky head jig do you use for skipping docks.
I like the Owner Ultrahead for it.

Leader to braid....knots or swivels??
I've tried it, but pick up a lot more "trash" on the snap; filamentous algae and the like. It's seriously annoying.

Let's talk Cranking Rods.
There's a Cumara 7'0 MedFast (Which translates to Medium Moderate) for cheap in the Flea market right now. I'd be all over it had the conversation with She who must be obeyed not indicated a GLX ordered for me earlier. The Cumara is a great series but around the $220 range for that rod new.

Can someone recommend a quality spincast reel?
Daiwa Goldcast.

Recommend Me a Shaky Head
I really have grown to like two styles for different baits. Most of the Cut tails and Robo-type baits I'm fishing on the Owner Ultra head. The KVD Perfect, SK 3X, Yum I'm fishing on the SK head.

Shelf life of mono
Of course a fishing line company is going to tell you you need to buy more fishing line. : Anything can be taken out of context, did you read the second part of that sentence? Not only was in reference to the fact that "Hey look the line company telling me I need to buy line" would be a standard answer; it's the second part that's more important. Three other sources, indicating sources other than line companies. Feel free to pull out of context anything you'd like...

Build Me a finesse rig!!
Huh, didn't know everyone liked the Cumara spinning like that. (BTW, I'd go CI4 and Cumara)

Vicious lures
Man I made out like a bandit at wally world the other day. I picked up about 40 bags of Yum F2 plastics and a load of Bomber cranks for a grand total of $29. Bass Pro or Cabelas would have gotten a check for about $250, I'd say. All of it was mismarked and in the nickle bins. I brought it to the managers attention, his remark was something along the lines of "You're lucky day from our mistake, then."

Berkley Havoc Wide Load
I like the looks of the bait, I'd like to see it up close, too. Seems like it would be a bait that might fit in a few different situations. There's not a bunch of stuff hanging out all over the bait which is kind of nice. I wish it were a little more compact, but like I said, I haven't seen it in person, either.

Berkley frenzy popper
Let me say it this way then, since we like to split hairs... The Skitter pop moves more water with the cup of its face than does the Frenzy. Also, I've got a few Skitter Pops and not one walks even remotely close to what the Frenzy does. Lastly, I'm not talking about skipping as in skipping docks, or skipping the bait across the surface as you cast; the Frenzy will skip forward, much like you'd see a torpedo to in terms of water displacement, without diving and chugging.

Cumara Heavy Jig & Punching rods
The punch rod looks really interesting to me. I'm a huge fan of the series and on a search for a punch rod right now.

Shelf life of mono
If it's fine, why're you using it just for backing? I mean, if its in perfect working condition, why not use it as mainline? It's fine, isn't it? You're not going to worry about sticking a fish with your favourite jerkbait and leaving that jerkbait in the fish, and the fish eventually dying because your forty year old mono doesn't have knot strength anymore, right? Because the line's fine, right?

Spinnerbait weights
In spring I'll fish mostly 1.25oz co/Co, most of the rest of the year is 3/4 and 1/2 in w/W or co/W with a few indiana blades thrown in.

Shelf life of mono
Not only is that the answer I received from Berkley when I asked earlier this year, it's the same I got from 3 other sources. I'm glad you had above average experiences, however, I'll go with what experiences I've had, as well as what those who know tell me.

Red Label ( Seaguar )?
It's a decent line, really. It's got some memory and isn't the most supple, but it's not terrible.

wacky worm hook choice
If you guys like that hook, you should try these:

wacky worm hook choice
I saw the Gamakatsu 306 in person the first time, today. I found a new wacky/dropshot hook, methinks.

R.I. Skinny Dipper 4.5
Beast TwistLock swimbait hook, 4/0 1/8th ounce weight.
-
Berkley frenzy popper
Two entirely different baits, the Frenzy is one you can wtd, chug, skip... The Frenzy is also a much more subtle sounding bait.

Shelf life of mono
Typical shelf life of monofilament is 2-3 years. Beyond that it becomes brittle and loses it's elasticity and break strength.

Dobyns 805 vs BCFR954GLX
Holy cow man. I got the 954 in my hands tonight and I think I'm in love. This rod is just wicked powerful, yet deceptively light. It's amazingly accurate, I'm really not used to anything over 7'2" in terms of pitching, I expected it to be at least a little unwieldy, that's not the case at all. Can't wait to get my hands on the 795, if that rod is what many say it is, I may end up with both. Now there's an idea... burn the tax return on them!

Any Brushy Creek (IA) advice?
Thanks for the heads up. I'm told there's a fantastic spring pattern up there, which I may head up for just "because".
