  1. what about bass team tackle weights? the price seems really nice too!
  2. near the texas roadhouse and melvin motors. are you familiar with the area?
  3. i tried taking it apart last year and got over whelmed lol i ended up putting alllll the little pieces into a bag and planned on sending it to a place to get fixed. my dad wasn't looking forward to it, but he spent that night trying to figure out how work, and assemble a baitcasting reel. that was one tough experience haha i might end up sending them to a professional place
  4. how do you do it so neatly? lol and do you use aluminum molds? i tried the whole plaster thing but it doesnt work too well for me
  5. its cheap so not that sensitive. i prefer my 7 foot rod, i love it and the action. im gonna look for a 7 foot spinning rod when i get the money
  6. i have a bassproshops megacast baitcasting reel. its pretty cheap but i try to maintain it by usin grease and stuff. a few days ago, i took the spool out and put grease in that little hold and put oil on the bearings. it seems kind of stiff now and i cant really flip with it too much even with the magnets all the way off. anyone know what this is? im thinkin it might be over-lubricating. in that case, how do i get rid of some of the grease the easy way?
  7. what would you use this rod for? i have one but i dont really like it. maybe im just not using it for the right style.
  8. i thought the get 5 worm had the tail of something like a gizzard shad or something, but the profile of the body is far too small to represent a baitfish i think
  9. I've been looking at a new rod and noticed that a lot of them are 2 piece rods. I thought this meant they were cheap but then i saw that St. Croix has a 2 piece spinning rod too, and i dont think they are too cheap haha. so what are the pros and cons of a 2 piece compared to a single one piece rod? is there any difference in performance or quality?
  10. awesome! good deal! let us know how it works out
  11. berkley chigger craw, berkley chigger craw crazy legs, and the zoom ultravibe craw look pretty good too
  12. i saw these on here in a different post and they looked very promising! as soon as i get the money i plan on gettin some of these! http://www.getfivelures.com/Home_Page.php
  13. Hey everyone, so i need some help here. I fish a little community pond that i am desperately waiting to thaw haha. it is about a football field long and half a field wide at the main part. It is mega shallow and fulllllllll of grass. The grass gets so bad that its kind of hard to fish because the grass grows so rapidly. The water is very stained with about 6inches of sight. The first time i went there i was able to catch some bass and develop a patter of yum 4inch dingers in junebug but that was around april. last year i started fishing a 1/4oz lipless crank at the ends of the pond where the ice was melting but with no luck. so i need your advice for what to use as soon as the ice starts melting as cabin fever is in full effect. one end of the pond splits in two arms, one is about 4 1/2 feet deep and the other comes to about 3 im guessing. the earliest i have caught them steadily was maybe in april. i caught one last year on a black and blue jig but i was just playin around over the edge of a dock, i dont think they would work because they would just get snagged. ALL the fish in this pond are small with the exception of a few 14-20 inch fish but i've only caught 4 of those in my 3 years of fishing there. If you guys can kindof comprehend what im talking about, please help. I really want to start being able to catch the bigger ones because the small ones just arent fun anymore. Thanks!
  14. those get five worms look reallllly good!
  15. holy crap guys, im so far behind all of you all. guess it doesnt help not being able to get a job and having parents that dont understand how important weights, colors, lengths, and materials used are. haha i was only able to pick up a few things this year so far and diminished my minute bank account that was supposed to be for college i guess haha by buying a mercury for my boat
  16. x2 I switched last year and I would definitely agree there is a noticeable difference when making contact with Anything. The first time out, I set a new record low on hook up to strike ratio. Finally realized I was feeling lily pad stems on the bottom and not fish. I will not go back to lead and am anxiously waiting someone to make flipping and casting jig heads from tungsten as well. A-Jay add me in on this too! it was my first time using a texas rig and i used the tungsten. they are almost too sensitive as i had tonnnnnns of false "pick ups" lol its like every rock or abnormality you hit feels like a strike and its kind of upsetting being sure you have a fish when you actually dont. haha but i can also blame that on inexperience. i was using them on a soft bottom with rocks and stuff spread around and i like them a lot. the only thing keeping me from gettin more is money.i get a lot more in a pack for about half the price with lead. lead is slightly less sensitive and about twice the size and i use 3/8oz weights.
  17. back when www.overstockbait.com had a deal on x-calibur TW lures that were walk the dog. they were normally 12 bucks each at BPS but i got 2 for 10 on this site. i was able to get a strike on one but my inexperience shined and i lost it because i set the hook too soon. they served me well as did my x calibur popper. i liked the x-calibur more than the rebel pop-r. i know spooks are the same style and worked the same way as others like the sammys, but i think they just prefer different than the "dog" style baits do. i think i prefer the dog ones

  19. a 4x8 should be fine. i just have a PVC makeshift cart that is easy enough to use. the only problem i have is getting it on with just one person. its a lot easier with two people. but with a trailer it would be no problem with just one person
  20. like KVD haha no joke, i like the way he flings it a mile out over head and on the side. i play baseball so its kindddd of like swinging lol. i need to get better with pitch and stuff. and i cant skip with a bait caster for my life. how do you guys do it?
  21. everything. haha i need to learn how to fish a jig. i taught myself how to t-rig last summer by just going out and doing it. i need to work on the things i like the least or know nothing about; cranks (both kinds), drop-shot, flukes, tubes, senkos, jerkbaits
  22. how would you guys go about trying to determine when the spawn periods (pre and post) occur in a small, shallow pond with dirty to stained water? there arent a lot of big fish, maybe an occasional 2 pounder and the rare 3-5lber. most of the bass are about 6-10 inches. its a community pond with loads of vegetation so i cant get out in a boat and i cant see anything from the bank. what would you guys do?
  23. my little boat takes on big wakes from the occasional yacht and many speed boats on SML very nicely.
  24. very well. with me all the way in the back with the TM and battery, the top only bounces a little going over very large, close together wakes. it will just float on along anything else. very smooth
  25. any of you guys have any pics of rod holders? im thinkin of getting two driftmaster holders and putting one on each side towards the back of the boat. would i need any extra support? and do any of you guys have an outboard for your boat? i just bout a 2003 merc. 3.3hp that im really excited to use as soon as i get back down to my baby
