  4. I've never really had any success with shakey heads, t-rigs, c-rigs, or jigs. I think its because its below the water where i cant see it, so i dont fish it properly? i find having the patience for all of these hard also. any tips for fishing these types of lures?
  5. i just started catfishing at smith mountain lake with chicken livers, but i have a friend who fishes small ponds back here in md and he says he just uses nightcrawlers and catches them all day. nightcrawlers with a LIGHT splitshot weight.

  7. i just bought my pelican 10e in march and i love it. my dad has been researching ideas on how to make a dolly for it as the trailer we have at smith mountain lake is about 500ft from the water. i use the handles as a place to secure my boat to the dock. i made it easy, as we already have two O shaped screws in the dock, about the same length as the boat, and i got about 10" long pieces of rope and tied one end to a caribeaner and the other end to a handle, so when im coming in i just clip on to the dock. i have mine on a 36lb MK trolling motor but im looking for any outboard for it. i havent got new seats for it yet, but i have found that the frames of my seats dont fit nicely into the grooves on the boat anymore, i kinda have to shove it in there, and my seats wont really slide up and down the boat either.
  8. alright! i think i narrowed it down to the vendetta spinning and trigger rods. and then pair them up with the browning Citori BPS Pro Qualifier and the Quantum Kinetic PTi-B
  9. i fished a floating dock and found gaps where i could skip worms under the dock, and i caught a smallmouth and a largemouth just my skippin it under it.
  10. how did you guys manage to make the mold out of plaster of paris? i tried but it never worked
  11. i would say cast past it and the work your way over it. i too fish in md. where do you live? im in bowie and fish a local pond that is shallow and has lots of grass in it, and a swamp with lily pads. i catch tons of fish and i am young so i guess i could be called a beginner, but i do know a thing or too but good luck, and feel free to ask anything, i would love to help
  12. hello everyone, my name is conor and im new here. im 14 but consider my self an avid angler for my age. i live in maryland and fish the local ponds and swamps with success, but i also fish smith mountain lake in virginia when i have the time on my pelican 10e. i fish with two baitcaster set ups (the rods are a 7' MH action and a 6' 6" MH action) mainly, and a quantum billdance series spinning reel on a 6' 6" medium action olllld old old rod. They are low priced combos, and the quality shows through the price. I am looking into getting new and better gear and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for rods and reels. i am on a low budget but i want to get different set ups for different situations and good quality gear. so far, i have taken an intrest in skeet reese's line of casting and spinning rods, as well as abu garcia's vendetta rods. for reels, i am looking at the quantum accurist. thanks so much for any comments or suggestions and i look forward to becoming an active member in these forums
