  1. I've had success on spicy goby, perch fry, front runner, and money
  2. It would be a 2013 Helium model, new, however, I will take a look at the KLX line and other rods not limited to Kistler. Thanks for the input.
  3. I am considering purchasing a Kistler Helium, specifically the Helium Drop Shot Finesse Worm Special 7'0" Spin. I'm looking for an all purpose spinning rod, one that I could use for drop-shot, shakey heads, weightless soft plastics, and topwater poppers and feel this rod may suit my needs. However I have never fished a Kistler and was wondering if anyone could give me their feedback on either this model or a Helium spinning rod that they have fished. Thanks for your time.
  4. For the most part, I use: GYCB - Senkos, Fat Ikas ISG - Dream Tubes Keitech - Swing Impacts Poor Boys - Tubes, Darters PowerTeam Lures - Texas Rig Jig, Hammer Shad, Swinging Hammer, Craw D-oeuvre, Ticklers Rage Tail - Toad, craw Reaction Innovations - Dippers Robo - multiple drop shot Venom - Tubes Xtreme Bass Lures - Tubes, drop shot Zoom - multiple
  5. Does anyone else use braid on their spinning rods for finesse situations, like when you drop shot, where you also tie on a flouro leader? If so, what brand/lb would you recommend. My buddy uses a set up similar to this for drop shotting and I was considering trying it out. He uses 15lb PP super slick.
  6. Robo's - Straight tail, sculpin, and zipper worm, misc smaller tubes, and here recently, PTL's hammer shad.
  7. What were you having the most luck using up there? I might be heading up in the next week or two if I can grab some free time.
  8. Exposed hook works well. Water was dirty today when I was up there, however, they still loved the tubes. I'd also try cranks and lipless cranks. 4-8' of water, at least for us.
  9. I'll be going up there Sunday morning, launching from 9 mile... 1st time going up in the spring, here's hoping my wife and I find'em!

  11. I'm going to be looking to get into the jerkbait bite this spring for some Michigan bronzebacks, does anyone have any favorites they use, regardless of location? Colors to get?
  12. I'm going to be purchasing a Dobyns Champion series 683c and 735c and I'm looking to match them up with proper reels. Any suggestions? I'm going to be using the 683c for throwing mostly unweighted plastics, senkos/ikas, and the 735c for jigs and heavy tubes. I have a couple of Lew's TP's, and was considering getting the 7.1 gear ratio for both applications. I have yet to have a problem with any Lew's TP, but I'm always open to suggestion. I'm looking to stay in the $200 range. Thanks!
  13. Thanks for insight everyone! I wasn't able to make it work this trip to Texas, but I'll be coming back in November, which won't be so last minute, and I'll hook up with someone then....
  14. Does any have any experiences with booking a guide on Lake Fork? If so, any recommendations?
  15. Also, I did bring my own gear and an hour or two drive won't bother me. Thanks
  16. I'm going to be in the Texarkana area for work, just seeing if; one, there are any fishing spots I should check out that are a driving distance away, or two, if anyone needs someone to fish with them this coming weekend. Thanks!

  18. May be looking into purchasing a rig in the near future. Just seeing who has used what and if they would have any advice on what has worked or hasn't worked for them. Thanks.
  19. I know it's late notice, but I'm looking for a boater link for July 28th's event on St. Clair. Thanks!
