Have not been on the Bend since April. I did see Catt's name on one of the La. forums s maybe he has given up on us. Good luck and keep a tight line. Dutch

  12. The small club tournament on Sam Raburn was rather unusual. We went up on Friday and launched out of Jackson Hill. We checked out alligator cove, deer stand, Phofer's (sp) creek and Veach. We only managed 3 small fish on a white chatter bait over the hydrilla. We only fish from daylight till 3:00 p.m. on Sat. and till 1:00 on Sun. Sat morning we decided to go to Mud creek. We threw ribbit frogs, pop "R"s, tiny torpedos and lunker lures. Catching only a few small fish. THEN, we lucked into, what I think to be a very unusual pattern for this time of the year, we started throwing weightless flukes up in the thick grass. It's 100 degrees, and the water temp is 90 degrees and here we are sitting in 3 ft. of water throwing into the shallows. Main lake points seemed to be the key. We had 5 fish for a little over 9 lbs. on Sat. and only 3 fish on Sun. that tipped the scales at over 9 lbs., but one was a 5lb. 13 oz. We came in 1st place and won $270.00 plus big bass on Sun. for $100.00, so almost paid for the trip. I can only think that the wave action on the bank aerates the water and increases the oxygen, and the grass provides a little shade. I sure never expected to find them on the bank with the weather conditions we have been having. Keep a tight line
  13. Thanks SkeeterDon - Leaving in the morning - Will give you a report when I get back

  22. Miss you Catt!!!!! Hope the injection helps - nothing worse than a sore back - keep a tight line. Dutch
  23. Jcfreak: It sure would have been nice to have met up with you a little sooner. A fully rigged triton for having 20lbs would have been great. The winning stringer came from boat docks. My fish came out of Kickapoo. I will sure keep you in mind when we have our small club tournament the 18 and 19th of August. keep a tight line. Dutch
  24. The fish were holding at 5 to 10 ft. on underwater structure. Almost all of our fish were caught on white chatter baits. Keep a tight line Dutch
  25. Fished the TTT (Texas Team Tournament) this past Sat. on Lake Livingston. We had our 5 fish limit, but nothing of any size. There were 140 boats and they paid 21 places. 19+ lbs was the winner, down to 11.87 lbs. We had 11.04. Oh well one good fish would have put us in the money. Good luck to those fishing the Big Mac on the Bend. Looks like ya'll have some good fish located.
