  1. A little different with the 5 fish limit format, no penalties, no officials on the boat, etc
  2. Didn't know they were doing live coverage on anglers boats on these smaller MLF tourneys! JT & Chad are still one of the announcers. I guess he's got a full time gig now between all the tourneys happening. Here's the link if anyone wants to watch at Pickwick: https://majorleaguefishing.com/events/2022-04-21-pickwick-lake/live/
  3. 3lb limit really changed things....
  4. BAHAHHAHA I'm glad you're keeping track!!! While I do think boat flips are a bad idea and lose fish, this was a little safer than a flip, because he grabbed the fish with his hands in the water and threw the bass into the boat with his hands (different than boat flipping hoisting by the rod).... The fish was super hot and I think a lip would have been a little safer but the belly lift and throw into the cockpit of the boat must have seemed safer to Connell at the time.... But let's talk about my favorite BOAT FLIP of the day, TAK. Tak boat flips a bass in on the starboard side of the boat, and the fish comes unhooked and lands on the carpet for a fish landing violation. The fish after it hits the carpet, bounces RIGHT back into the water on the Portside of the boat. It was quite a smooth process to watch, but obviously Tak came out of that one with a 2 min penalty and no fish to weigh. The peanut gallery behind the desks had some good commentary on that one, JT was loving it and gave it a 'double whammy' star of approval. I do love watching fishing, but I'm glad they got JT behind the desk to give us all some laughs!!
  5. Wow, Connell with the big one, throwing it into the boat, pretty cool! Really snuck in there and pushed Lee out...
  6. Too many guys throwing paddle tails on chatter baits. Everything I've read said that paddle tail competes with the action of the blade and it's kind of frowned upon.... I'm so confused... I know there are no hard fast rules in fishing, but the pros are pros for a reason...
  7. Ehler sure barely squeeked in! But glad he did. Whoever is on the audio mixing today definitely messed up a few times, here at the end on the recap all I hear is a guitar riff with the commentators barely audible in the background!! Someone is jammin in the studio lol
  8. I've now see Birge and Shyrock fishing without a ball cap on. Seems weird, not used to seeing this. Any specific reason or did the hat just fly off while running 60mph down the lake?
  9. Russ Lane just lost one boat flippnig on a frog... He didn't seemed to concerned about the loss, I think it was scoreable though.
  10. Connell just lost a decent one at the boat, guess how? Horsing it and I think maybe trying to boat flip it....Imagine that!
  11. Thanks for the details. Yeah, I don't know if it was bigger than the Roy 6-09.
  12. Strader has lost more fish than I can even count... I wonder why? Me feels like he's definitely HORSING them too hard, just my .02 cents....
  13. Gotta love this tourney for wheeler, livescope isn't going to be a big player. Some true old school bass fishing. I LIKE IT!! Is Tak throwing a chatterbait or just pure swim jig? He's throwing it pretty deep into cover, I wouldn't think a regular chatterbait would come cleanly through that stuff and he would snag more... (like I snag with chatterbaits...)
  14. Yeah, pretty awesome fishing! FYI, maybe the admins can move your post to another thread that's been going on...
  15. how about starting with not boat flipping? haha

  17. Wow looks like a 10-0 fish by Schlapper. Can't wait to see the footage on that one.
  18. Pretty amazing story there at the end, at the award ceremonies, by Luke Clausen, giving Bobby Lane credit for showing him around Kissamee during pre-fishing when Clausen was able to win a bassmaster classic. He said he gives Lane the credit for that win, so if he wasn't going to win today, he wanted Bobby to win. Glad they are on good terms, Clausen sure was poised to win it, beating out Connell and Wheeler. Props to him, I'm about as happy for him as I am for Lane. Love Connell and Wheeler, but glad some other guys are winning to give those 2 a run for their money. Wheeler is such a machine, I'm glad to see competition still holding.
  19. Rooting for lane for sure. very very tired of hearing the drill or power tools in the audio background!! Hahah perks of broadcasting at the expo.
  20. Seems silly. Glad you made the switch and motivate me to switch also ??
  21. This was definitely the biggest gap I've seen. They are doing the best they can, with the best scales they got, etc. Unless they all livewell their fish and bring them to the same scale, there's inherently going to be some very slight miscalculations. I guess these anglers have gotten over that and for the most part trust the system. I would say for the most part I trust the system. But any big winnings within a ounce or two of each other would make me a little uneasy. Again, I think they are just doing the best they can given the format.
  22. Man, everyone is struggling today, but yet no one is going for a dropshot or some other semi-guarantee bait? So weird... I did see one shakey head fish caught... Maybe water is too dirty for dropshot?
  23. HAHA I saw that, surprise surprise!! The lure liked his outfit so much he hooked himself on the back and the official had to remove the hook lol
  24. Ironically, the last tourney DC just won, he went to the dam with clean water, because it was too early in the season, and he wanted to find fish that were still feeding up, and not pushing up into the muddy water creeks. Clean water can be fine, you just have to adjust your technique, and a little damiki/dropshot combo did it for DC in the last stage.
  25. yeah... lots of guys LOVE stained water, the fish aren't as fickle. I guess stained isn't good for bed fishing... but stained should be fine for chatterbait/crankbait, etc. I would think the fish would be there feeding in the stained water getting pushed onto the bank.
