  1. My dad has had one of these for a couple of years and he keeps complaining to me about it. He says he has a hard time getting it to not backlash and when hes able to dial it in so it doesn't, his casting distance is ridiculously short.
  2. They sure look good from the topside though. I bought one of their frogs over the winter and was amazed at the detail, but then I thought to myself "how much of that nice detail can the fish even see"? When they fill a little with water and sag into the water I suppose the fish see some. I also picked up one of those cranks. That also looks incredibly good. Looks good to us(fishermen). We'll see if they will catch fish. Right now I don't think they'll work very well on the ice. ;D
  3. Up here it rained, then hailed, then freezing rain and now swow over the past few days. Its getting old.
  4. I've owned and fished both. They are both good reels, but I would give the edge to the curado. The curado palms easier and has a more "worry free" braking system.
  5. Kistler rods tend to be on the light side for their power rating also. That doesn't mean their not good rods though. I have never held a lamiglass rod, but I have one coming that should be here today or tomorrow. Its the xc724 "senko special". I'm anxious to handle it!
  6. The talented fighters with an unorthadox or unpredictable style are dangerous. Jones is definitely one of them.
  7. Agreed, but check their actual feedback history. If it is some who doesn't sell 5,000 things a year, even a couple of negative feedbacks can make them dip into the mid to low 90 percentile range. Sometimes peoples F.B. that they give to sellers is B.S. Click on their username and check for the negative comments. If it is truly a bad seller, a pattern will be apparent w/ the F.B.
  8. Is that video real? Wow, if it is!
  9. They have a special formula just for boxelders at most hardware stores. Find where they are concentrated(usually under siding and in cracks in your foundation on the south side of the house). Then spray the areas that are concentrated with them and where they hang out. This "special formula" does not kill them on contact, but does not take long to work. The key is that the spray will get on them even if they weren't directly sprayed, they just have to walk over an area that was. Then when they bring it to the nest it spreads like a disease. This IS a outdoor spray, but if you spray the right places outside it does a number on the population in general. I've fought many a battle with those annoying things!
  10. I agree. I've been a vikes fan my whole life and AP is a respectfull guy. He could have probably had a better choice of words.
  11. They run a pretty close race in performance. It comes down to personal preference. Personally, I prefer the xt. Smaller (more palmable), prefer the straight handle, and the coating is VERY scratch resistant. I wish the xt came in highspeed though. For some reason a lot of people overlook the pat. xt. I know I did before I was talked in to one by my buddy that works at cabelas.
  12. I may be wrong, but I thought that reel had a all aluminum frame & sideplate.
  13. Around here they will start running up the rivers in a little over a month. They seem to like white baits the best. We usually do the best with a 1/8-1/4 oz. jighead w/ a curly tail grub(mister twister). Sometimes it works better to add one of those small spinners so it looks like a small spinnerbait.
  14. Our trout opener is in a month. I'm already getting impatient. It's been a long winter and we need some more snow to disappear.
  15. I tried the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers last night and was amazed. I didn't realize how dirty the cork handles were. Easy as pie. Just went and got some M. E. Ya, that is easy and does a good job.
  16. One of my fish fell off the wall and it cracked by the tail. Its just in front of the tail a half inch or so. Its cracked vertically all the way up in the back side and on the top and bottom in front. Its still plenty attached though. Is there some kind of clear epoxy or something I could use to fill the gaps?
  17. Shock the stream. ;D Just kidding. I've always done livebait, spinners and raps too. A guy I see every year at the local tackle shop by where I trout fish keeps saying to use large floating rapalas. Like #11 up to the biggest floater. Yes, that giant one. He swears he uses it all the time. Less fish, but bigger fish according to him. I haven't used anything bigger than #9.
  18. My dad has loved shellfish his whole life till a few years ago. He ate some shrimp and got deadly sick, went to the dr. and found out he was allergic to shellfish. It didn't come about untill he was almost 60 years old. I hope it doesn't happen to me because I love the stuff.
  19. It is ridiculous. If you look at it one way you can say the players are getting greedy, but its the owners that won't disclose their financial records. I guess I don't blame the players, however, if I made a fraction of the amount of $ they do, I wouldn't be complaining. Don't get me wrong, these people are good at what they do and it involves hardwork, skill, stress, expectations, among other things. Just goes to show that no matter how much $ a person makes they still want more.
  20. The 100 just says ACS on the side while the 150 reads ACS3. What's the difference? Is that the reason the 150 costs more?
  21. I still have to go ****** one before they go back up to $99. Chi city, how much more sensitive is the XML over the prodigy, I know you have fished both. I have 2 spinning and 2 casting XML's but have never fished a prodigy, just held them in the store.
  22. Agreed, Mike does great work in a timely manner.
