Nothing wrong with Vanish if you know how to use it.... I have experienced any problems with it that i havent had with other lines.... I kinda like it....plus its $8.00 cheaper

Rent the movie "The Tao of Steve"....there is much to learn from the premise.... unattainable and smart@zz are the two words that keep coming up when the girls i date talk about how they ended up with me with my current ladyfriend being the exception.make them think you are out their league and make the laugh..and its all over .... that is over the last 15 years.......then once they end up getting to know me, I end up having to run them off, most of the time.... You think you got things planned out and life throws you a curveball....... Was headed to Austin....Well I got a job offer in Boulder,Co. , one of the coolest places i have ever been.... I decided to take it. My best friend is out there and needs a roommate in a condo on Boulder Creek. work,fishing,climbing and bars all within a walk or bike ride..my girl is even supporting this and plans to move there from tx. within a yr...... so being a flyfisher before anything else, needless to say I am stoked.... Looks like the adventure will start the end of october... it cant get here soon enough...

I have fished football jigs exclusively the last 4 months, other than when i was throwing a buzzbait or shakeyhead..... I used 1/2oz in water 10ft or less. 5/8 and 3/4oz depending on conditions and what i am doing... Have used the XPS, Chompers, and jewel jigs.... I like all of them. The skirts on the xps and jewels are much better though, I am also more partial to the line tie on the Jewels, I just like a bulkier skirt sometimes, seeing that i am fishing stained water. I use the same color as the other jigs i fish here. Havent had to pick up a C-rig yet. I like zoom fat albert twin tail trailers.... Paca craw jr's or baby brushhogs on the bigger jigs. They work really good around stumps and stuff for me... fish them on 17lb vanish, 6'10 Team allstar flippin stick, and a 7:1 reel....since going to this setup I have missed very few bites, nor had one jump and throw the hook, like i had happen with P-line CX...

Totally worth the money, rods are a steal..... The MH's are some of the best buzzbait,spinnerbait mid- range rods on the market in my opinion.except they can be a little bulky to some people..cant beat the price, you can afford several lengths, and the action is perfect ....they are also set up so you can really sling a bait a good distance... I have owned and fished alot of highend rods tryng to find one i liked for wire baits...3 years later and i am still happy. I throw buzzers and spinnerbaits ALOT...

The grass in a 100 acre lake here is pretty unfishable....It grows everywhere it seems, only time it doesnt get really thick is when the water is muddy which is rare...Several public and private pond have it too. The stuff is real stringy,dark green, can grow from bottom to top in 30ft of water in some place. It also stinks like crazy and the only thing i have heard it called it stink grass. I think it is a product of runoff and sewage leaks. Ever seen this stuff and know exactly what it is?

Doesnt have to be Austin proper, would rather live on the outskirts....As far as the job market which part of the texas coast or austin area is best? I know about the fishing, i cant wait....just got to figure out as much as i can before i go out there to start looking at things. Avid, I have the gorgeous, young lady ,that also fishes, waiting on me between her and the fishing i cant get there fast enough....she has already moved to dallas but is going to relocate when i figure out what i want to do. best thing is in the far forseeable future neither of us want babies and marriage isnt an issue, because we dont want to ever be divorced ......

Anywhere cool on the Texas coast???? or is it the kind of place you only visit to fish? What about south LA, anywhere pleasant? As long as I am 2-3 hours from dallas or closer....I kinda want to be close to saltwater, but the hill country is really talking to me.... i dont mind these big decisions though ;D I am thinking about even trying to live a while with just a nice mountain bike to get around.....

Had the landowner, which i knew, start driving toward where my truck was parked beside one of his ponds....gf was kinda in the truck, i was standing in door with shorts at ankles.....landowner saw my white butt and knew not to proceed any further ;D other similar stories but this is a family forum...

What if you were 28, watching 30 chase you down.... Have a college education and a good dog, and a little $ saved....Say you were ready for a change of scenery,career,lifestyle etc....and had nothing really holding you down. Just what yould you do???? 8-) Austin and Beaumont Tx. are on my shortlist right now..Grad school at UT in a few years if i stay there...Really like Austin, have a few friends there already, and the girl(once in a lifetime type, i am getting a 2nd chance with) i am seeing wants to move there from Dallas, where she went after we finished college to work. I miss living in a college town(athens). I feel like being back in that enviroment and it being in the Hill country will be the perfect place to spend some time figuring out what to do with the next 25-30 years...One of my best friends has been in Austin for grad school the last 3 years and has the fishing all figured out as far as flyfishing goes.. ;D Plus its no big deal to go to the gulf for the weekend...

i use them for everything but deepdiving cranks, just reel slow.... I feel like i cover 2x more what jig/t-rig fishing just being able to get the lure back faster after it leaves the strike zone.

Orvis rods are great, I own/have owned many. Man, you are gunning for bear with a 9wt. That is a striper/tarpon/redfish rod....Will work for bass, but it will kill you...will be like fishing big swimbaits ... I use a 3wt more than anything, sometimes a 5 and rarely my 8wt for LMB....I catch more fish on orvis #6 sneaky petes in chartruese than any other lure i own.

Looking more and more like I am relocating to Austin,Tx around the first of the year...... or somewhere close to Austin. So Amistad or Fork would be real do-able if schedule works out....

Oconee Seminole,G-ville, St. Johns river, Toho.....i dont know.....April or early May would be better on a Ga,Bama,Ark,Tennessee trip.....Unless yall want spotted bass, then lanier would be excellent....or a smallie/spot lake in upper or mid-south maybe, march would be real good.

As uptight as I am about people using my rods and reels with what i consider expensive line, I get kinda upset at seeing my money backlashed/tangled away due to carelessness and ignorance. If one of my buddies picked a rod and reel of mine up with this line and tangled it up.....Needless to say I would be facing assault charges When I ruined it, I would need conseling/med attention after beating myself in the head with the rod. If shimano made some, we would never hear of another line on this site....

Avoid the Pinnacle Solene like the plaugue.... Daiwa Pro-caster-X 103HA, Great reel, cheap on ebay....also look at Abu Garcia 2005lp, they were $80 when they came out a few yrs ago, now you can get them anywhere from $25-$50
