  1. i picked up a 1/4oz strike king baby burner the other day and it casts like a rock and has a shacky kind of action when burning it at the surface of the water, atleast mine does. http://www.***.com/Strike_King_Baby_Burner_Spinnerbaits/descpage-SKFBSB.html?large=SW
  2. tell me about it. bass pro is getting way overpriced and when they have "Sales" its on things id never use. i bought my first pack of GYB senkos last night and ill see how long they last. ive been using dingers for a while. great action, cheaper, and last a while.
  3. Not sure how many people might bash them but eagle claw lazer sharp in 2/0 for 5" senkos worked great yesterday for me. didnt miss a fish. $1.99 a pack for 5 at dicks sporting goods.
  4. been looking into power pro 50lb, color doesnt really make a difference since it will be seen anyhow?
  5. everyday is different. its pushing 100+ heat index here so i know the water is warm and everyone around me is using topwaters while im catching fish on senkos. theres days where the topwaters deliver more than anything. just try everything out to see what works.
  6. diff. colors and sizes
  7. i picked up a mad maxx @ my local sporting goods store for $7 in black with red markings. looks killer for where i fish. ill know what its like next week!
  8. I fish a lake here and its full of thick weeds with pockets and I wanna spool up some braid. Id use it for hollow body frogs, flipping, etc.
  9. ive always use dingers for the price and durability and they are $4.99/pk @ dicks sporting goods here. tried some strike king shim e sticks today and no action what so ever. put on a dinger and caught 3 bass. dingers, fish hold on. caught 3 bass on one worm and no damage at all to it.
  10. good info, thanks! i was gonna put some 12lb on my senko rod and 14-15lb on my t-rig rog
  11. well ive started out using the yum dingers for the price and durability and i picked up a pack of strike king shim e sticks for $3 a pack. they look and seem pretty good ill try em out tomorrow
  12. would it be ok to put a full spool of yo-zuri hybrid on my baitcaster? most people would put mono as a backing then flour but yo-zuri isnt fully flouro. im not worrying about the wasting factor. i do occasionally backlash and have to cut line out but id rather have it full of the flouro then get back down to mono. anyone experience with doing this?
  13. could i use flouro or mono line with frogs? ill mostly be using it in open water. ill use something else for the weeds.
  14. Im new to using them. I fish a local lake and not sure what color frog to try out. Theres two lakes. One runs into the other through a dam. The first one is super shallow all the way through it. Full of matted weeds and some pockets. Stained and some areas clear. The other, is stained full of blugill and I wanted to try something new here. Whats a good frog to try out and whats a good basic color?
  15. I fish a local lake with finicky bass and I just started using senkos. I use a baitcaster with a 6'6" mh rod. What would be good # test and line type? Looking into yo-zuri hybrid for senkos and t-rigs
  16. yeah i dont like carters right now lol. its nice and all but fishing sucks. i used different things at my gfs pond and kept catching fish. i used the same worm and caught 4 bass on it easy til it tore apart lol
  17. so i went to carters lake today. what a bust. fish were jumping and barely biting anything. i tried everything. noone was catching anything. went to my gfs house and fished in her pond and caught a 4lb bass and a about 5 more around 2 pounds all within 30 minutes to an hours time. was using a texas rigged zoom PUMPKIN/CHARTREUSE u tale and was tearing them up back after back so easy. ill post up pics if the forum will let me.
  18. thank you sir. i was looking at the shakey head jigs and didnt pick any up. i should have! lol. didnt have much of a choice at walmart. they suck. pm that link you were talking about.
  19. yeah water temp is 57 at the lake im going to so ill be using spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, jigs, and texas rigged plastics.
  20. alright so i headed up to walmart and picked up a pack of zoom ultravibe 3" green pumpkin speed craws and ill try those texas rigged and see where it gets me. they were almost sold out so they must be doing good.
  21. i live right off 16 off 140 make a right into the walden crossing apartments. yeah allatoona i dont really care for even tho i am close to it. me and my gf are going to carters tomorrow. i use baitcasting rods only. not much of a spin casting guy lol so whatever i can use for baitcasting on the bank and pick up some fish ill buy from the store.
  22. haha yeah. small world. i fish lake allatoona. i live off exit 16 on 575 btw. i havent fished during pre-spawn and stuff in so long i forgot how to work everything lol. yeah i do actually have a 1/4 oz jig thats brown and ill get some sort of trailer for it. ive never been to carters lake before but the fishing report shows the water temp is almost 60 degrees so i should be able to find a nice cove or two and fish them for a bit. i have 3 new cotton cordelle lipless crankbaits that i havent used yet. two are chrome and one is like a craw color. think the water at carters is stained so what would be some good color choices for soft plastic worms? i have black, green, and pumpkin all are 6 or 7" and ill be texas rigging them. also where else do you go around here? i dont know anywhere to go. i dont like allatoona cause its too crowned and so is lake acworth.
  23. well im gonna try out my spinnerbait for a bit and see if i get anything then move on to my texas rigged zoom green or pumpkin or possibly black worm
  24. saturday its gonna be close to 60 in the morning and get to the 70s by lunchtime and the high is 75 and partly cloudy the whole day. this whole week has been in the 70s and today its at 82. fishing report shows the water is stained and is 55 degrees at the lake im going to
