ive just had my mind set on an orra sx for a while i love abu reels but ive also been wanting to get a lews speed spool

my local dicks sporting goods has these combos...orra combo is $129 and the code combo is $119. Both have 8BB and the rods are 7ft med-heavy. The code is high speed so I'm not sure what I'd use it for. I mostly use senkos, fat ikas, spinnerbaits, shallow crankbaits, occasionally swim baits.

Ive had my eye on the speed spool for a while now. For under $100 it sure has good reviews. Ive been looking to get a good lightweight combo for all around lures mostly worms/swim jigs/square bills/spinnerbaits. What do you guys think? the veritas or the vendetta?

Got a pack and wondering if anyone has any luck on em?

would the orra be a good reel for anything almost?

And no bites. I used senkos, swim jigs, 10" t-rigged worms, kvd 1.5s, and some fat-ikas. Fish were jumping and not hungry I suppose.

Mine is mostly spinnerbaits but I'm gonna see how well I can do on some kvd 1.5's

do you guys prefer j hooks or octopus hooks? im thinking i may start using octopus hooks. i dont fish any cover just open water and let em run with it.

do you use a live bluegill on a bobber or on bottom?

I haven't been catfishing since I was little til yesterday. Must have attracted the whole lake when we threw in chicken liver juice. About an hour later we threw out 3 poles. Each one goes off as soon as it hits the water. We continuously caught them one after another, What other baits do you guys have luck with?

do you guys got any tips or tricks other than rigging them backwards?

the lake the dam flows into use to be a corn field. theres old fencing there, trees, rocks, no telling what else. i get hung up sometimes and dont even know what on.

What do you guys use? only deep water i fish is by a tiny dam and it might be 10-12ft deep with all kinds of structure on the bottom. I normally use a 10" texas rigged worm and do good but I wanna throw something new out there. Water is usually never clear.

what colors do you guys swear by? rigged normal or backwards? what size hooks? presentation? what size ika? im seeing the big hype about these things and I wanna try them out where I fish.

I was fishing the other day and by the bank in some weeds something stirred them up. I looked deeper and it was a school of 10-15 fish. I still can't figure out what they are. Crappie, bream, catfish are in the lake. They stayed in the school around the weeds. I threw a white rooster tail, caught one and lost it. Fought like it was the biggest thing in the lake. From the look of what I could see, it was kinda brownish on the top of it. It was def. bigger than a bluegill and kind of longer. Wasn't a bass. They were all the same size. Any idea? I'm in georgia and I still don't know all the gamefish that are here. The air temps have been in the upper 90s and the water im sure is a little warm also. If that helps.

would the rage chunk or rage craw trimmed down be appropriate for the 1/4 swim jig?

maybe try another color senko. ive had bites and lost fish. i changed colors threw back out and caught fish. i will tell you where i fish i bought some poured senko knock offs from someone black with multi colored flake with garlic scent. fish cant seem to wanna let it go. i catch more fish on them than any other lure.

what # flouro leader should i use with 20# braid?

ive got 20# power pro on two of my baitcasters. first time using it this past weekend. gotta say, its great. casts smooth. very sensitive. NO backlashes. much easier to work with than mono or flouro. as far as line digging in...im not having that problem. ive dropped my drag a little bit compared to mono and when i set the hook or bring in a fish its a breeze. eventually i might upgrade to 30-50# braid. right now, i can cast smaller lures or really anything with ease.

i used a rage tail craw in the watermelon red flake as a trailer on a strike king swim jig 1/4oz in the bluegill color and fish demolished it til i actually lost it. i had a 6' leader on my braided line and somehow one bite from something made me lose my lure. such a good color combo for a swim jig and trailer.
