  1. It used to be an awesome lake for largies, but someone threw in some smallies in there and they about wiped out the largemouth. It is still a good fisherie though. As far as bank access, there is none, except right there at the launch. But you can rent small boats from teh marina right there I think they are 25.00 a day and they are row boats. Once again without a boat you are SOL, there is no bank access. Joe
  2. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Jake - Hopefully will get to meet you in person soon and crush some of those largies over there on the bed. Glenn - I am living in Washington state, wife is still in the Army. So right now currently I am in Korea visiting her with our daughter. Joe
  3. Rocky bottoms, I am usually using a football jighead. Although it does get hung up sometimes. Not as bad as other lures. Also will throw a weighted fluke down there and tap around the rocks. Joe
  4. Well I grew up on Lake Champlain, but 25 years ago I joined the Army. Now retired living in Washington state playing around with taxidermy to pass the time away until the wife retires and then will decide where we want to settle down at. Joe
  5. What a great video, kept it real simple and easy to understand. Thanks for sharing that. Joe
  6. wow lots of good info from this post. Wife was the same way, I just got her out on the water as much as possible and let her fish, and I told her if it feels different then set the hook.
  7. In Washington state only a couple of lakes are not open, others are year round. But going and spend a month on my home water of Lake Champlain this year. Have not fished it in 25 years due to me being in the Army. Man can't wait to hit some of the old haunts and see if they are still productive. Joe
  8. As a taxidermist myself there are quite a few places back on the east coast. The number one guy I would recommend is Rick Krane. Anglers Artistery. If you do a google serach you will get his website. He is a master taxidermist and a judge. You will pay plenty but it will be done right. Joe
  9. Skipping like everyone has said just practice with it. If you are trying to just get the hand of it use a senko. 8-12 inches of line from the tip, keep the rod low and skip it under the dock. It gets easier the more you do it and once you got it figured out you can go to other lures. Joe
  10. A big black cat, was night fishing on a small lake and I heard the zara spook hit the ground I went to pull it back into the water, and for some reason I felt a tap on the line and like an idiot I set the hook and the fight was on. That was one ticked off cat.. Joe
  11. Wow as a taxidermist myself, would be embarrased to send something like that out of the shop. Skin mounts look good also if you take the time to make sure the form wether bought or carved yourself actually fits the fish you are applying it to. Joe
  12. Sending you a PM, I am in if you have the time. Joe
