  1. Any one get there hands on the New Powell Endurance rods?? They look nice. Don't have a shop anywhere near me that carries them.
  2. I don't have a rod with EVA handles either. Kind of old school myself.
  3. No short falls. The Dobyns is a 702 Sierra Spin Shaky head rod,6'9 m mf Kistler Argon Crank bait rod, 6'9 Kistler Helium MH F Finesse Special Senko Rod, No 8 6'6 M F spin small Trig.6'11 H MF Big Cranks and spinner baits/Swim baits Replacing MHX Jig rod (giving to son). Like to get opinions before go look at stores if not I'd be in there all day lookin at everything! I'm in a small aluminum boat. My last rod was MHX 7'3 MH F 3/16-3/4oz and seemed to be a little lacking sometimes. Definitely be rated to at least 1oz.
  4. I 've got a Daiwa CT 8:1:1 going on this rod. I'm not brand loyal and like to try different rods I have kistler , Dobyns , No. 8 and a MHX custom in the boat. I would go up to 150$ for this rod.
  5. Hey guys, so I'm going to get a Jig/Trig rod for 1/4 - 1/2 oz bottom lures. Be doing pitching and casting with it. I like to dredge the bottom with swinging jig head also. What length power and taper do you guys prefer. Only occasionally do I get into the thick salad, so do you think I need a Heavy or maybe a Mag MH? Thx for any advise Rick.
  6. Is there a reason the *** is hidden in *** chrome??
  7. Lookin at the 6'10 MH f.(like a shorter rod) Be throwing spinner baits, smaller swim baits, larger flukes and buzz baits ect. Pairing with a Daiwa CT 7.3.1 (Luv these reels) Narrowed done to Lancer, Ghost, Falcon Christie rod, *** chrome, and the phoenix feather if I can scratch enough together. Not partial to any brand just want a descent stick for the $. Thx for the info guys, Rick
  8. I haven't heard anything bad about them yet. Although they're a fairly new company from what I've read. Wish Bass Pro carried them. So I could check them out.
  9. Anyone get to fish this rod? Looks really nice for the money.
  10. Great suggestions guys Looks like I got my work cut out for me. Some very good looking rods! Thanks again
  11. Thx guys Definitely goin with a MH F 6'8-6'10 rod. Has anyone fished an Ark rod? Bass Pro doesn't carry them. They look very nice. Gonna check out the Duckett ghost and Falcon SR. Just wondering couple manufacturers I might over look to check out.
  12. Sorry I was being so vague. The Top water will be buzz baits .Plus larger fluke style baits and smaller swim baits . Probably fish spinner baits 75% of the time on this rod. Not a huge top water guy so it will be mostly be spinner baits. I fish out of a small aluminum boat. So I try to get a few more techniques out of a rod to save room. Thx
  13. Hey guys, Lookin to get a New rod for spinnerbaits/topwater apps for under 100$. Anyone have any suggestions? Will be goin to Basspro shops in a couple weeks. Any suggestions welcome to check out while I'm there. Thx Rick.
  14. Yeah Got a lot of new gear to try out and the weather just crazy! Have been to my favorite pond, but really want to get the boat out.
  15. Thanks guys. I went to Fishermen's Central a local tackle store and checked out quite a few rods by all different brands. (to many to list) Got the 702. I fish a lot of weightless baits in summer and the 702 just felt right to me. Put my Sustain 2500 on it and it balances very nice. Haven't got to fish it yet as the weather here in Ohio doesn't know what it's doing.
  16. Hey guys, is anyone fishing the New Sierra Spinning rod? Lookin for a dropshot/shakeyhead and small plastic jerkbait rod. My son claimed my old M1 (reel seats starting to get bad) which gives me an excuse to get new rod !. Or does someone have a suggestion for a good all around rod for all these baits?
  17. I 've caught fish on about all of them. I like the paca craw, chiggercraw, and rage craw. I like to kick some rocks over and see the color and size of the crayfish and match the hatch if you will. Good fishin.
  18. Thanks everyone. Definitely try the brush hog and have some Havocs wide load plastics. Picked up some Rage grubs as well. Just lookin for something different. I like the idea of tryin something that I think wouldn't work. Thanks for the videos Glenn!! One of my go to Trigs is a tube. Will give it some time for sure. Hope everyone is getting a lot of time on the water this year.
  19. Probably caught more fish on a Berkley power worm than anything else I throw.
  20. Hey guys, Was wondering what you like to throw on a Mojo Rig? Headed to a lake with a lot of grass this week and was gonna give this rig some work. I know how good a Senko works was wondering if there's anything else you like to use?
  21. Just wanted to give a shout out to RW. I checked into Mizmo Tubes and come across Fisherman's Heaven. It's an awesome online store. It doesn't have every bait out there but you can get bulk bags of 25 ct tubes for 12$ and some change. They ship for free in U.S. with no minimum purchase. I got um today and there VERY good tubes!!. They are very similar to BPS tubes, hhmmmm?? They also sent Missle baits twin tail worm sample pack, which was cool . I only spent 25$. And a Koppers,Missle Baits, and Gary Yamamoto catalog also came. It's gonna be a good season!! Thanks again to Roadwarrior as always good stuff!! Rick
  22. Does anyone know a good place to get a bulk bag of 4-5in tubes? I love the BPS tubes but you can't get bulk anymore. Just not very cost effective you know. Been searching the net without much luck. Thanks for any feedback Rick
  23. You can go to mudhole.com and there are many different epoxy's. U-40 is a good product that is a two part epoxy that you mix 50/50. I would put your reel in reel seat after you apply epoxy to make sure your reel seat lines up. Clean off eccess epoxy with alcohol and let sit over night without touching. May want to use rubber bands or twist ties to secure everything. I think a 4oz set is 10$ and is more than u will need. They may have cheaper just look around site. Hope this helps
