  1. I've been looking around the web for some (CHEAP) but o.k. blanks. Do any of you guys use Baston RX blanks?? They have the power and actions I'm looking for, and price is o.k. Or any suggestions would help thanks
  2. Just getting started and wanted to know what the best rpm would be for drying. Thanks for any other input also.
  3. I have 3 heliums and 3 argons got each one for under 100$ at my favorite outfitter on E-Bay and won 2 on auctions. So my price point isn't sugg retail Not saying there isn't nicer rods just sayin LOVE MY KISTLERS!
  4. If you shop sales and E-bay that list gets alot BIGGER!!
  5. I would do as already posted. Go to your local outfitter and play around with some reels. You don't have to have dual braking to get a nice casting reel. If you like round reels check out the Abu C4. Casts a mile very easy to service yourself. I have 2 I've been using for 10+ yrs still work perfect! Any of the brands mentioned will have Quality Reels you'll fish a long time
  6. You are exactly right. Basically what this means is you can compare 6lb 100% to any other brands 8lb. If there are any doubts that 100% is the best, just ask the Elite series guys, and the FLW Tour guys, 100% is the most used line at the highest level, meaning they trust it to make their living. At the FLW CUp this past year atleast 4 of the top 6 were using 100%, including Larry Nixon who was throwing braid/fluoro combo I believe. I wonder how many of those top 4 anglers were sponsored by Berkley. I was wondering the same thing. :
  7. Any of you guys use this line? I'm looking for a tough mono for Pitching that is manageable. Any suggestions are appreciated.
  8. All I fish is Kistler you won't be disappointed. Congrats!! ;D
  9. I bought a Black Max for my boy.(Just learning to throw a BC) I was very suprised at how well it casts. Theres alot of plastic in that reel thow so for flippin and pitchin it's a gamble. The reel preforms well thow. Just remember you get what you pay for. Shimano has a New reel out for around 89$ ya might want to check out.
  10. The REVO winch is a SWEET reel check them out if you get the chance smooth and reliable! : Pretty sure the make a lefty
  11. 6-9 MH F S Helium JM spinnin reel (Love the bigger spool) 6-9 MH F C Helium Abu Revo 6-11 H MF C Argon Revo Winch Yey that about covers anything you can throw!!! ;D
  12. I've been usin Berkley 100% for a few years with little problems. Few loops and wind knots on spinning reel but no biggy. What do you guys prefer???
  13. Same here, at least with the craws. Just the opposite with the chunks though...............go figure. The Paca has produced for me too, but the chigger craw is the best craw i've fished IMO!!
  14. Norman Fatboy!
  15. I too had to learn on my own. Most good fisherman have! That's what's so great about Bassin. There's so many ways to catch them. My advise is to keep it simple. Go with proven baits. Don't think you have to have 200$ rod to catch fish. Althow when your ready a good rod will increase your hook ups! Stay with it and Welcome to the greatest sport on earth!! ;D ;D
  16. It's Atwood lake part of the muskingdom water shed.
  17. Usually stick to gatorade, if I do good i have a few BLs's! If I do bad I have ALOT!!! ;D
  18. Headed out tonight to fish first wednsday nighter at local bass club. 88 degrees blue skies puffy white clouds water temp? water clarity stained. Any suggestions? Thinkin about mostly pitchin a tube. Maybe even a, a, a, a, o.k. i'll say it shakeyhead.(never had any luck with this tech). Maybe fish secondary pionts with a 11" C-mac worm. Ain't no big money just acouple bucks and braggin rights. Plus I take my 9 yr. old (12 and under fish free!) He's loves it! Maybe I'll have him on a shakey rig! :-/
  19. Bass snaps for cranks. First thing I do to a new crank is take the o-ring off the line tie. :-? Tie direct on spinnerbaits and jigs. ;D Just my 2 cent!
  20. I think the guy in the front has an advantage, unless he's controlling the boat so both of you can fish. I like fishin out of the back in this situation, just concentrating on catchin fish and nothing else! ;D Althow most of the time I'm runnin the trolling motor. My nine year old doesn't have very good boat conrtol YET!
  21. Was just wondering witch time you guys prefer and why? What technique or presentation do you use the most? I like post because they seem to bite the baits I like to fish the most (cranks and tubes).Just my opinion.
  22. X2 I like flat side cranks on windy days give off a bit more flash. It,s hard to beet a spinnerbait in the wind.IMO
  23. A 3# average is good for any lure!(but I'm from Ohio) I usually pick up the Jig when I'm trying to upgrade acouple in the livewell.Seems like they do produce better quality fish! Good Job !
  24. 4' BPS Flippin tube green punkin junebug tail. Works in almost any condition and water clarity. These things catch fish! (even in Ohio )
  25. Hey guys, got a tournament coming up at this lake on the 5th. Just seein if anyone has been there lately. Any tips or advise would be appreciated, thanks.
