New Lures You Tried In 2014 That Did Not Work?
What size is the S-Waver? 168 or 200? Glide baits are kind of a developed skill in how to fish them. You kinda have to get a feel for them and what you can make it do. That's what I like about them and it makes them fun to fish. A pretty slow retrieve with some pauses or a few quick turns works well as does chopping your retrieve like making a little stutter in turning the handle. also just cranking enough till you feel the head turn then stop so it glides way out to the side. You can make them glide way out from side to side and just keep doing it so it goes back and forth you can probably get like 2' glide with just a 168 doing that depending on some things. The Gyron is blah to me really. I have caught plenty of fish with it but its not very good and it casts like garbage so no bonus points there for casting either. The BBZ ehh again personally its a floater type thing as there are much better baits for below the surface. It is just a bait that never tickled my fancy.

Planned Trips Or Short And Impromptu
All my fishing is planned. It could be a week ago that it was planned or I just planned that I was going fishing 30 seconds ago.

Perspective Clarification!
I agree that some questions seem so obvious. I kinda wonder. Like really do you have to ask that. Or questions where the only answer is to say I don't know just try it. As for a jig in grass that's kind of a valid question. It depends on the grass and how thick it is. Some stuff you cant really do it unless your fishing almost vertically so the only option is to t-rig or a punch skirt if you want the jig profile. Is this Cosmic Sans? I am keeping a eye out for funny text and sarcasm.

Hard Swimbaits, Why Only Out West??
I think everyone who starts throwing big baits originally is skeptical of them working because of there size. Even I was although I knew there was no reason to be worried just because it was so unnatural to my way of thinking and I actually knew all about them to a certain extent besides actually using one myself. So for the people who are great sticks and might know about them but not really know it just seems out of the question. I remember when I was trying to find a place locally that sold Hudds (no one does btw) when I asked the guy who was like "you mean those things they use in California? Those don't work out here they are to big." They upped there game a little now though over the years. Originally they only had like a foot wide section of paddle tails and it was just Basstrix that was cool with me (those are the best IMO) and something else. But now there is d**n near a whole row. It seems like I ask about something and they don't have it.Then I come back like a month later and now they have some of what I was looking for. I know there is like almost no one asking for what I do so it seems like they secretly take advice from me in a way. They know who I am and ask me how I have been doing and I show them so it doesn't seem quite as alien as it used to. They see the proof and I show them fish and guys fish all year and guys fish all year and maybe catch a couple like that but I am doing it consistently so there must be some validity to it. I don't need 15' of wall space from floor to ceiling of every Rapala ever made in 20 different colors. I know everyone out here loves there Rapalas though. Everything is called a Rapala when you ask someone. It's like all tissues are Kleenex. What are you using? A Rapala. Or when people are like ya we caught a bunch on those little silver or blah blah blah Rapals. You gotta get one of those. Like really? You know its a brand and not a actual type of lure right? There is literally like 100 Rapalas.

All-Around Spinning Rod Help...
Well it depends what you want to throw on them. Some frogs and even jigs and hollow belly swimbaits can have a fairly decent sized hook and I like be able to stick them easily since I use it for the highest range of things I would use on spinning. I am not above going lighter with it though if I had to. I can make it work easily.

Hard Swimbaits, Why Only Out West??
People are just more narrow minded about them. Out west they actually sell the stuff in shops and its common to see. Places by me don't even carry that stuff for the most part so our average person or even people who fish constantly just don't know I think or assume its to big. Finally a place by me Now bass few things after me asking all the time if they were ever going to get this or that or why they don't have it to begin with. Ofc the baits are in the musky section since they are to "big" for bass. I don't know how many times I have to tell them either when I walk up to the counter with them. So where you going musky fishing? I am not. Then what are you buying them for? Bass. Are you serious? You can't use those for bass. Yea your probably right since only bass that weigh 10# or more would eat this and we don't really have those out here. But hey maybe I'll set the state record of I keep throwing it...

I hear that on the dropshot. It is in my opinion the best fish catching technique there is.

12 Pound Sufix Siege Digging Into Itself
Siege is a good mono and its cheap at that. I can't comment about the smaller tests but I have liked 17 and 20#. I also like elite but only ever used it on spinning but have no complaints. For me though its CXX for everything if possible now a days. Like J said though if your having trouble with siege I would stay away from CXX. That's not one you want to play with if your already having issues with just mono.

All-Around Spinning Rod Help...
I don't know how much grass you fish and to what level you want to fish a specific technique. I bought a new spinning rod this year for primarily fishing grass and also double as a rod for small hollow body frogs ect. It is a fenwick HMG 7' M/H. It is plenty strong to be able to pop a bait out of grass or drive a hook home. If I was fishing tons of grass and only had 1 rod I would rather be over powered then under powered. They also have a full front grip and that is a big factor for me in spinning rods.

Best Rig Set Up For Strike King® Super Finesse Worms ?
I have had some of the best days ever on finesse worms. I guess it's a split shot rig/Carolina rig. I think it is actually a mojo rig. Just a couple split shots to add a little weight about 12"-18" above it and a very thin wire off set worm hook and slowly drag it back like a c-rig. It is light enough that it rests on top of the weeds and they come up and engulf it. It is usually a spinning deal for me and 20# braid to a leader.

D-Bombs are still the best for me also. They might be impossible to beat IMO. Don't sleep on the missile craws also. There really killer and slip down into anything. I can't believe spybaits never worked out on Erie for those smallies. I would think they would kill it. I have had moderate success with the DUO 80.

Huddleston Is Coming Out With A Swimbait Rod!
I don't like the production LDC for throwing top hooks. I feel it has to much flex for slamming home a hook on big baits. I am sure it would be just fine if I used braid though. They are awesome for anything with trebles though.

Huddleston Is Coming Out With A Swimbait Rod!
I would think you need to have rods in stock to be considered production. I waited like 2 month for the first LDC I had to be made.

New Lures You Tried In 2014 That Did Not Work?
Does it count if I have lures I bought but haven't used yet? The only thing I can really think of is a Bull Hearing. I tried to fish it but I am just not a fan of it and never got bit when I did use it. But then I put it down and pick up a TT and its the opposite.

This Cold Front
Well today was the nicest day we were going to have for the rest of the year. It was over 60 today and I hooked into a really nice one that I am sure would of been my biggest this year. I have caught plenty in the 4.5-5.5 range but only a couple over 6. I got it a foot from the edge and it turned so I could see the whole thing and it was gone I was going to change the trebles out for EWG and said screw it and I think if I did that it would of stayed on. Then to boot later I lost one of my favorite cranks I a place I had fished over 1000x and made tons of casts across that spot earlier today. I changed spools on that rod with another reel and if it still had the CXX on it I might of had a good chance to get it back. I am going with it being a monster snapping turtle that got me and I swear it was moving at first. I swear this thing is like the 10" version of lipless cranks. It just always seems to get big bites.

Huddleston Is Coming Out With A Swimbait Rod!
I can't tell if that was sarcasm J. It almost seems like it just cause of how its worded

Pitchin Rod
Yea micros are beat if you use braid and want to tie a leader. The only difference I notice with the micro guides is that they annoy me. Some I can't even get a bobber stop through if I want to take the reel off or change a spool cause its to big.

New To Superline
832 and power pro or power pro super slick are all solid choices. The suffix cost a couple bucks more but braid lasts for ever basically.

Big Mouth Forever
I looked it up on YouTube but the quality was so terrible. I had to rip it off YouTube and render it so make it partly watchable. There is a video that is simar in having cool shots of bass hitting lures but it is in French I think. It has a bunch of pros talking and those guys who were trying to catch Dottie in it. But everything anyone says in it is dubbed over in French.

Soft Plastics As Topwaters
I am pretty sure it is designed to be a topwater bait. I don't know how well it would do fished any other way. The rage smokin roosters also work well fish on top. Also senkos can be killer. You can twitch a senko and it will dart all over like a fluke.

Backhand Cast
I had mentioned walking along the bank the other way. It is for sure the fastest way to get good at back handing. I am sure that's why I can do it as good as I do. Later you can try and step it up to a 2 handed back hand cast. It's weird at first but just takes practice. You can bomb stuff basically just as far as a normal cast.

After The Fall Bite?
I have caught so many fish on that same color erratic shad is missing almost all it's paint. That's a great bait for me right now.

Winter Bass Fishing Help
Plastics worked slow along the bottom are a good choice along with a jerkbait. My water is super cold right now but you can always catch some fish with plastics. I got 4 today in the little bit I was out all on soft plastics baby dbomb and missile craws. Only caught 1 on the craw but it was around 3 3/4#. When the water is cold they bite is much more subtle usually.

Anyone Ever Buy A Repo Boat Or Truck?
There are definitely deals to be had in repos or police auctions. I use to buy tons of stuff from police auctions when I was a kid.

Is The "overhead" Cast Sacrilege ?
You ever fish on a boat with like 3 of you on deck? It's fairly common when using spinning gear to cast overhead though.
