The Road To The Super Bowl
After seeing the Pats make a complete 180 in the second half, I switched over to the Saints/Falcons game. Probably the best game I saw yesterday.

Lunkers Summer 2014
Well, judging from your pics and different clothing, I would say that you got out more than I have this year just by those outings in your OP pics...LOL This year has been a struggle to get out and fish. I will have to say though, the handful of outings I did fish were productive. My worst year ever, I used to go 3-4 times a week from ice out to ice in. Next year will be my time, I hope. Great to see you posting my friend.

Fall: Why Lipless Crankbaits Over Lipped Crankbaits?
I think he meant a silent vibrating bait, but yes, you are correct...

Kids Had Fun On Vacation!
We had to stick to the rivers at each end of the bay in Kennebunkport due to the choppy seas so the kids and I trolled tubes tipped with a plastic sea worms: Not big stripers but a lot of fun for the kids.

Lipless Crankbaits
I have Rattle Traps, Cordell Spots, Bayou Boggies, Rippin Raps, Red Eye Shads, a Kinami Rattle Flash and Rattlin Rapala, all purchased through-out the years and they all have different qualities to them and have their time and place. This one by far has been my biggest producer for the last 2 years: A Janns Netcraft Lipless Crankbait, add the hooks of your choice. I bought 5 different colored baits for under 3 bucks each. Couldn't be happier with the results.

Best Lure For Year Round Use
Yep, I was reading how the lipless crank that we know it today evolve from a similar lure northern anglers used to use for ice fishing. Check it out: http://www.jimporter.org/articles/article117.shtml If you think of it, jigging a lipless crank thru the ice is pretty much the same as a yo-yo retrieve you'd use in the winter. I understand that the yo-yo still produces the bait to go horizontal during the time your reeling up slack line, but the action you're looking for is more vertical. Just my $0.02 worth. I'll take either a Jig or a Lipless Crank as my year round lure. They both can produce multi species of fish year round.

Fall
I haven't been out for a couple of weeks now, but traditionally down here in my waters fishing is usually good from about the 3rd week of August thru September and will tail off in mid October. Needless to say, I'm chomping at the bit to get out...

Striper Fishing
I'll be on vacation next week in Kennebunkport, ME and will be striper fishing. I have a Zodiac with a Yamaha 10hp so I can get around the bay pretty good. Usually this time of year I can see schools of fish in about 8' of water, so what would you recommend using for lures? I've had luck with swimming hair jigs and lipless cranks in the past, but I wanted to get your input on how you would approach them?

Do We Know
I like to fish for different species, so a lipless crankbait and/or jig will get me there.

This Or Last
It's never about numbers or size, it's about the experience of doing something that relieves stress. This year I've fished about as much as I did last year the first 10 days after ice out. Absolute horrible year for me. I will have to say that the times I did get to fish, I had some really productive days so far.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I live 1 Town over and have not hit Borderland Park, I'll have to check that out. There was a guy on this thread who lives in the Easton area, maybe he can chime in. I don't believe he's been logged in much though. Ames is usually choked pretty good by mid summer. I don't go there much anymore. I know some folks used to pull some real nice ones out of ther though.

Who Would You Fish With And Why.....
From Bass Resource: Sonny Nitrofreak Green. We'd be laughing so hard we'd look like drunks with no alcohol on board! From my family: My dad. He doesn't fish and he's 75 years old, I would love to try and spend that time with him. From a pro: I would have to say Jimmy Houston.
