I have about 4 Bayou Boogies, unfortunately they are the newer ones from Heddon. A few years ago I tried making one but a little bigger: It was just shy of 1/2 oz and 3" long. It caught fish, but it swam more like a lipped crank. Oh well, another experiment gone awry...

I guess I try and take the advice of what I read and see and formulate it to the way I fish. May not work all the time, but I try to learn and study as much as possible prior to hitting the water but I've also taught myself different things along the way through trial and error or just plain dumb luck. So I guess I'm a hybrid.

Low and low ball are 2 different things. Start off between 5% & 10% lower than market value and go from there. 25% plus was a slap in the face.

There are a boatload of players trying to make it to the NFL, let alone the team they're wearing the jersey for, so I'm sure they're show casing their talent for the coaches on both teams. Remember, no guarantees in football. These kids are going all out.

I agree, I used to go hard in practice when I played hockey, but I guess this is where the money element comes into play.

The thought process behind practicing with another team is just as you mentioned, to increase intensity. They want the players hitting earlier, the coaches don't want the players hitting teammates, because it's natural for a player to "pull-up"/let up prior to contact with another teammate.
