What Do You Use? No Brands!
Me personally, no, I would not, do yourself a big huge favor, read the articals in here about fishing cranks, then ask us what differences etc... Save that money and put it to good use on some really good productive baits. Once you purchace one from a decision for yourself or from a suggestion here, take it out and try it, let us know everything you did with it, the weather and everything and we can most likely get you some confidence with your new bait.

Is All This Really Necessary?
Points, points, points. Simple, throw a T-rigged worm, green pumpkin, start shallow work to the deep part, record how far you dragged your worm before you got a strike and keep doing the same thing for each point you fish. My favorite Colors for plastics: Green pumpkin, most of the time, Watermelon Red, Spring, spawning time, June bug, Post Spawn Red bug, Summer time. Good luck and be safe !!!

Weighing Bass
Just get an easy to read digital scale, it does not have to be anything fancy, Wal-Mart brand or something of that nature should do just fine but you left out your price range.

Bass Fishing Article Suggestion
As with any change to a major sporting venue, there is always a cost, no matter how you look at the picture it's always monitary, be it fan based or additional equipment or both. The bright side would be that you can be right there in the boat with your favorite angler, just as in a Nascar venue if we went to something of that nature. The culling aspect would bring new light, and drama if they were to show how much weight a particular angler is culling at the time as well I think if they hide the total weights from all to see then we could still have a showcase at the end, kind of like a plug and play kind of thing. If there is enough noise made about this how far off does anyone think something like this could actually happen, if at all?

A Day On The Res With Nitro!!
Why do you do that? If you stop at a spot that "LOOKS FISHY" why dont you instead find a spot that "IS" fishy, then you won't have to throw all those well laid plans out the window.

We look forward to meeting you, keep an eye out, the winner of the meet and greet spot is soon to be announced !!! To add to Travelers post, it would be nice if we could gather all the rides we could for some available seating, if we need it, last time a few stayed home because we did not have enough boats, we would like to have all the boaters we can get, so if your ok with getting around with yours and a guest, I would like to hold you as a boater for now, is that OK ?

Bass Fishing Article Suggestion
There is a good point there, but I have a question, How long do you think the migration will stay there anyway? if the enviroment is not sustainable for life or spawning, the bass will not stay there, so even if an angler was to return the fish to its home area, this one in particular, they, the bass, know that if that area is not suitable enough to sustain life they will move out, no matter how many fish the angler catches from there, eventually the bass are going to move out on their own, they will look for areas that are better suited for raising fry and ones that have a higher chance of survival of their species.

What's On The Menu Today?
Sweet and Sour Pork Chops tonight, with grilled corn on the cob and wild rice !! 4 large thick pork chops "Bone In" cooked the way you like them, grilled, broiled, oven baked. 4 ears of sweet yellow corn on the cob still in the shuck, grill them as you grill the chops. Cook the wild rice while your chops are cooking. Sweet and Sour Sauce, 1/2 cup of firmly packed brown sugar, I prefer light brown sugar, you can use dark but it will give it a really sweet taste and you won't get the eveness of sweet and sour. 2 Tablespoons of Corn Starch 1 large can of pineapple, chunks or crushed 1/4 cup of white vinegar, or 1/16 of a cup if you don't want it to have a bite to it. 1/2 of a finely chopped Red Bell Pepper Mix the brown sugar and starch together until the brown sugar no longer clumps and it looks like a powdered sugar mix, if the mix does not smooth out, add or keep adding a touch more corn starch until it does, just be really careful not to add too much starch, add in the vinegar and the pineapple and mix thuroghly, if there is not much pineapple juice in the can you can add a little of your favorite juice, apple or orange juice, the mixture should look nice and wet but it needs to be somewhat thick. If you like your peppers to have a charred taste to them you can pre-grill them first, it adds an excellent flavor to the sauce, otherwise just add the red pepper to the mix and stir again. Turn the burner on medium high and stir continuously until mixture starts to thicken nicely, remove from heat, try to avoid making it boil, it tends to give the sauce a burnt taste and it really makes a mess too. You can either use the sauce to make sweet and sour rice, or you can use it for the chops, or both, one of my families favorite dishes.

Bass Fishing Article Suggestion
Sam, First of all thats an interesting topic of discussion, you gave us an interesting proposal, nice job buddy ! Something tells me you have already done some research lol !! Merc1997, While I agree with the release of the bass being in one general area as most of us do here in Va. as well, I do not agree with it seeming to hurt our bass populations in upper regions of such waters. Out of the thousands of tournaments over the years, also thousands upon thousands of fish have been released in one general area here at my favorite lake, most are concentrated out of a place called Sturgeon Creek, but there are 3 major areas on this lake that have tournaments, so we can multiply that times 3, if the bass do not travel too far after a release then one would think that the areas where most of the fish are released would be packed with Anglers all the time and would not have to go very far at all to catch fish. This lake has been having tournaments for 40 years or very close to it, if that were the case all the fish would or should be located in the mid lake region. Fact is fish migrate to locations all the time, each body of water has it's own eco system, it's own structure, the fish simply do not stay in one place for an extended period of time especially if there is not an abundance of forage, think about something here, these fish that are caught and released also have a mortality rating, some survive some do not, but for every fish caught in a tournament and transported to a new location from a tournament angler, there are 10 others that are caught in the same locations from each of the weekend anglers and released in the same location from the catch, how many more weekend anglers do we have vs. tournament anglers? It's not all the anglers that fish upper regions of the lake that makes the fishing tough, although I am not saying it does not impact the thriving population of the upper regions of your waters, it also means there is something else is going on as to why the population of fish do not thrive in one area vs. another. In my home lake, the bass used to be abundant, 50 bass days were common way back when, but over 40 years of storms, boat traffic, etc... the lake has changed a lot, fishing holes get silted in, tree stumps rot away, just a couple of the many, many reasons why fish tend to populate in upper regions of older lakes, but not every lake is the same, it's up to all of us to understand these kind of changes and adjust our techniques accordingly.
