Any Va Members Fish Lately?
Zoff, Thank you so much for this past weekend, Saturday was a day I will not forget for a long, long time, you have an absolutely beautiful family and all of them made me feel right at home, you and your family's hospitality was more than anyone could ever ask for. It was refreshing to hear how much you all did together as a family, I look forward to the next time and hopefully getting our families together to enjoy a day or two together as well. As for the fishing, SML even though 6 feet low and windy as all get out, was still a great place to fish, we only managed two, one I wish we did have a scale but I think we both agree that if it was not over 3lbs it was right there at it, Beautiful fish, the other roughly in the 2lb range still a very nice fish, both of us had one get away from getting under some cover and leaving us snagged in the end, which ironically I feel sure would have been our two biggest fish of the day. I look forward to the next visit to SML and I hope to fish with you again, you put us on some really good fish and I learned a ton !!! Again, Thank you and your family for a truly awesome day !!!!!

Va. Meet And Greet 2013 !!!!
No s13John we have not set a date yet. January 1st will be the cut off to find out where the meet and greet will be and then we will discuss dates, it's either going to be the end of August or sometime in September when school lets out so that the young ones can enjoy this as well, there is less boat traffic which makes the waters much safer for all who attend as well. We look forward to meeting you and we know you will have a lot of fun !!! Is the end of every month not good for you?

My First Rod Build Pics
First one huh? Looks like you have been at it for a while imo lol !! Looks really really good, can't wait to see the whole thing when it's done !!! If you were to compare it to any rod of choice, which one would you compare it too and what would the price difference be building the rod vs purchacing the rod at a retailer?

Need Advice, Sell Or Keep My Boat
Some of the best fishermen I know fish from boats like yours, they fish tournaments all the time and do well on places they know very well, but they also tell me they do not wish to fish tournaments on bigger waters due to the fact of safety, some places they go now are difficult on rough water conditions with their boat, they are limited to the areas they can fish when there is a lot of boat traffic, small boats are not easily seen by some boaters, and rough waters are difficult to navigate at times, there have been some close calls that they have had they tell me so they limit themselves to coves and bridge pilings. The most important thing to think about is safety imo, if you do decide to get a bass boat make sure it's a safe and dependible one, if your not mechanically inclined enough to be familure with an outboard engine, please have it checked out by a good tech, sounds as if you have some pretty good knowlage of things in general around marine equipment so you should be comfortable knowing what to look for. I too agree with Sloan, just don't rush a decision on which bass boat, look around and take your time !!!!

Any Va Members Fish Lately?
At this point brother, I don't care if we don't catch a darn thing, I have not been on the water since the meet and greet, I need the practice anyway, fishing with Traveler I hit most of my targets and I hit targets I ment to miss, and I missed the fish that hit their target, the ol' brain needs the excersize as well as the spirit, I just look forward to getting on the water and knocking off the rust and see if I can catch a 5lb'er or two LOL !!! I will just settle for being on the water.

Any Va Members Fish Lately?
Well, finally looking to get in some very much needed time on the water, I am so out of practice it's not funny, so Zoff don't laugh at me if I hook myself LOL !! Zoff, I look forward to fishing with you Saturday, it should be a lot of fun and I can't wait to see what you can teach me, Smith Mountain Lake sounds amazing with all of the different things you have told me so far, I can't wait to see it for myself, I looked at some of it on Google but somehow I just don't see it doing the lake any justice, one cove had some really good looking amounts of lay downs, one has a ton of boat docks, one has some really good looking rocky features, it seems no matter where I looked there were lots of possibilities. I am going to rig up my rods tonight and double check everything, I will see you on Saturday morning bright and early sir !!!

The Outlaw Josey Wales Is On
Clint Eastwood is my all time favorite actor, I have a CD of that movie and a bunch of others, there is no more real TV that I watch any more due to the shift in what they think viewers want to see, it's come to a point that I no longer watch television or go to the movies. Everything it seems has gone away from family and whats right and wrong but this is only my opinion and the way I look at things.

Outboards Over The Winter
Same here, I have a nuke plant lake I fish year round, it could be freezing outside and the water temp still in the 60's and high 60's. As long as you keep the engine in the vertical position you should be good, a little Startron in the fuel, and the batteries are kept surface charged you should be fine. If the weather gets cold and stays cold, like below the freezing mark for an extended period of time, I always bring my batteries in from that enviroment, if you know you won't be starting your engine for an extended period of time, I always fog the engine before storing it for the winter as well.

Heavily Pressured Bass
Ha Ha , I have spent a lot of time there in the past, I know how you feel about that ol' girl been there done that !!! Lake Anna is one ol' girl that I have a love/hate relationship with, no matter how much time you put in there it's never enough, one hint that I will give you is you have to keep in mind the power plant there, on the public side of that lake there is a reverse flow of water, if you are spending all of your time below the 208 bridge, the warm waters there will be acceptional for bass to roam, I have seen the thermocline be as deep as 30 feet in the middle of winter, and o2 rich water all the way back up to the nuke plant before, if you fish the lower part of the lake they will usually be grouped up and you will just have to find them, that can be a pain !!! Where abouts do you concentrate your fishing if I may ask? I am not looking for specifics nor GPS locations, you give me a general idea and I will know where you are fishing. If you wish to go over specifics then shoot me a PM. I will say this for her, you really need to SLOW DOWN, I know tournament fishing there and I have been in your shoes, most all of the hot spots are run over and over and over again before you get there, but keep this in mind, we could see KVD fish a brush pile, then Denny then Ike then Paul, all of them will catch a fish or two because they all fish differently, you have to be different as well, I have fished a rock pile in the arm of Anna river just before you go under the bridge to make the left into Christopher Run, I fished the old creek bed while someone fished that rock pile for 30 minutes, and right as he was leaving and I was picking up my trolling motor to head over there another angler came in and fished it he was there almost 15 minutes before leaving, I went there with a T-rigged lizard and just casted to the side of that pile and waited for over a minute before I moved my bait, I pulled not one but two 4lb'ers off of that pile in under 5 minutes, they are there and they are very very easily spooked, they will take their time to test a bait. Slow down when you fish under docks, look for the oldest docks you can find close to deeper water access, fish the grass flats at the splits with a drop shot, 15 to 20 feet is where you will have your best luck.
