Those are two baits I will not leave home without. At 25% off, I'd buy "em all.

another shipping comment; not a rant
I ordered a reel last Thursday afternoon. Got an email that the reel had shipped Friday morning. The Post Office tried to deliver it to my house the following Tuesday morning, but no one was there to sign for it. I had to go pick it up. The reel was bought from Japan Tackle. Half way around the world, in five days, for 15 bucks. Major kudos for the shipping company, EMS, for outstanding performance.

KY Lake Road Trip
Hey Mike. Why don't you put a list of all who plan to attend your cookout. You may get few more to get off the fence once they see that they have something besides your ugly old mug to look at. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

More New Havoc baits have been released
Interesting. Two threads lately on these baits, and the negative comments keep coming. Very strange for a line of baits that has yet to see the water. I'll bet after the bass read all these negative comments they'll turn up their noses at every one of these baits. At least it will be only the young bass refusing to eat our new baits.

Help me keep a couple reels! Which ones to sell?
Those are all low priced reels. I would try to sell them locally. Shipping is going to take a fairly large piece of the pie. Hey big t, don't mince any words; tell us what you really think. ;D ;D

Help me keep a couple reels! Which ones to sell?
If it were me, I'd sell them all. You just might get enough to get another Revo. Then your backup would match your starting lineup.

Home brew? Uncle Leo brought some of his home made wine last year, and it was excellent considering it was the first he had ever made. I'm looking forward to this year's pressing of Chateau Nuef du Leo. Senile1, any Boulevard beer you bring will be appreciated. I have yet to have one I didn't like.

Alphas It'o oops...updated
If you have a Dremel, try a felt wheel and some ultra fine polishing compound, and just see what happens. Try it on the under side of the reel foot first. Who knows, you may have just discovered a new finish for a reel with a problematic lack of finish

symetre vs supreme xt??
I only have two spinning reels. A Supreme and a Supreme XT. Not a heck of a lot of difference between the two. Buy whichever you can find a bargain on. You'll be happy with either. All of my baitcasters are Daiwa. I picked the Supremes for spinning because, in the price range, neither Daiwa nor Shimano makes a spinning reel as light and smooth as these.

When to use loop knots
Never. I can't seem to tie one that comes out to much better than about 30%.

Alphas q's
The Alphas series are all nice little reels. Keep it and use it. You will like it. Try it on your shallow crankbait or jerkbait rod. I have three; a 103, a 103 F and an R edition, with one more 103 F on the way from Japan right now. I use mine for light line applications, but I know some who use them for heavier duty.
-
what do you use for finess fishing?
80/20 would probably describe a fast action rod; 70/30 a mod-fast, and 60/40 a moderate. I'm sure, with that nomenclature, he's desribing action rather then power. For most of my light line bass fishing I use 6'9" ML-XF St Croix LT with a Daiwa Alphas 103F.

GLX ?
After a little backyard casting, that was my initial take on this rod; flukes, tubes, ikas, etc. I tried a new Zillion on it, then one of my super tuned Fuegos. The Fuego will stay. The reel has #12 on it right now. I may very well go down to #10.

Keeping your tackle hidden from wifee?
DITTO. And, anyone who thinks he can hide something from a woman is clearly delusional.

GLX ?
Kent, I have one Shimanew reel left. I tried it on the 852, but it just looked funny. Maybe my last remaining Symetre 1000 is too small?
