SwimBaiters,I need your input!
I think I'd be trolling that bad girl. Put about three ounces weight, about 3' of leader, and run it 75 yards behind the boat on 4 pound test, over 2 feet of water. About 6.5 MPH sounds about right. Oh, and hang a couple of #8 Aberdeen hooks on it. Wouldn't want to upset the balance, you know?

Double Texas Rig
A double Super Fluke rig is deadly. You have to see it in the water to appreciate it.

Are steel leaders a requirement while musky fishing?
I use this. http://www.feather-craft.com/wecs.php?store=feacraft&action=display&target=GS182 10' for 10 bucks. All of my muskie baits have a Tyger Wire leader tied on using a 1 1/2 turn clinch knot, and have a swivel on the other end. I wrap the leader around the bait, and store it that way. Just have to cut off and retie braid to swivel to change baits. I've tried braid and flouro, and heavy mono for leaders when targeting muskie, and all I will say about that is; there's nothing worse than seeing a big muskie swim off with a big, expensive bait stuck in it's mouth. I always felt like I lost, and the fish lost too. I'm fairly sure that those fish did not survive.

need help on choosing right jig head for tube's
That last one, on the right looks like the BPS jighead. i bought several packs of those a couple of years ago. I threw them all away after missing a least a dozen fish. There's something about the angle of that jighead/ hook that does not allow a good hookset. Maybe I was rigging them incorrectly, but I don't know how I could have been. I simply inserted the jig, poked the eye through the plastic, and tied it on. I got a lot of bites while using them, but never hooked a fish.

Fin tech title shot jigs?
The Title Shot jighead is excellent for swimming worms, or for any plastics fished through weeds. A little pricy, but a great design. A small, local tackle shop is the only place I've seen them.

Hard JerkBaits? What rod?
One overlooked factor for a jerkbait rod, and for a spinnerbait rod, is the length of the handle. I like a shorter handle for both these applications. The Avid 6'8" M-XF rod I have has the perfect length and action for jerkbaits, but the handle is too long. I use a Setyr 6'6" MH-F rod for jerkbaits. the power and action are very similar to the Avid, but the handle is over 2" shorter, making it easier to manipulate the bait with the tip down.

early season warning for all
Hye Keith, I think there is something wrong with that tire. Not sure, but it doesn't like quite right to me. ;D Glad to hear you're OK. Thanks for the tip.

Laser Lure
This may very well be the single most blatantly stupid thing I've ever seen posted on this forum. Glenn, who was there, said he was using the bait. He posted pictures of the guy's rods, with the baits attached, and you say something like this? Grow up.

tube jig head w/ or w/o rattles?
A rattle in the tube will help in dingy water. I've been experimenting with rattles in my tubes for several years, and this is one conclusion I can believe in. A second conclusion, that I hesitate to state, is that rattles seem to be a turn off in very clear water.

Political correctness; a definition
A buudy sent me this. I just had to pass it along. Every now and then an enlightened individual will so gently describe a controversial term that it deserves to be enshrined in writing. This is one of those times. The following is the winning entry in an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a ontemporary term: This year's term was "Political Correctness". The winner wrote: "Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

A brief history of math
I have. I'm a professor at a community college. I took a substantial pay cut for the privilege. And I deal daily with students with no math skills. I'm not in the math department. I teach Engineering Technology, and, as you can imagine, there is a bit of math in my curriculum. I find myself teaching algebra, geometry and trig to students who should already have those competencies.

Any advice on freeloading tenant
I had a friend, about 20 years ago, who was always in this situation. His solution; have the plumber go in and remove the toilet. Worked almost every time.

A brief history of math
The Politically Appropriate Evolution of Math Education ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Last week I got a burger at Burger King for $1.58. The counter girl took my $2 and was digging for my change when I pulled 8 cents from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3 pennies, while looking at the screen on her register. I sensed her discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me back two quarters, but she hailed the manager for help and while he tried to explain the transaction to her, she stood there and cried. Why do I tell you this? Read on... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Teaching Math in 1950: A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. Mexican Honeymoon Recommendations
We've been to Cancun, and the Riviera Maya at least a dozen times. PM me if you want details. I can also put you onto a great guide. If you can wait until January, you'll find much lower prices for both resorts and flights, and better flight times.

How Would You Use A 7 ' H Action Rod?
Get a 4000 size spinning reel, spool it up with #12 or #14, and use it for whatever you'd use a MH baitcaster for. I don't like to make "general" statements, but, from what I've noticed, most companies spinning rods are rated heavier than a comparable baitcast rod. So, the power on your new stick just might be comparable to a MH baitcast rod.

Why your vote counts.
That's just about the most asinine statement I've ever seen on this board. Would you care to explain? I took this to mean that if you took the time to educate yourself on the issues, and the candidates stance, you would be able to make an informed decision.
