Which Popper has the best " Bloop" sound ?
Man I've always loved the Hula Popper. Is it not as highly thought of these days because it isn't new, or has something else come along and surpassed it?

New spinning rod
My 15 year old Daiwa spinning rod broke in my last time out so I'm semi looking for a new one (Will use my baitcasting rod for now). Due to finances I'm looking for something around 60 bucks or under, so no real super rods. I'd like to be able to use it to throw most of my lures, ranging from weightless slug-gos to swimbaits (Smaller ones, 1 ounce or so). Any thoughts? I've seen some recommendations for Berkley Lightening or Shimano Voltaeus rods. Also have a Gander Mountain and a Bass Pro close if their store brands aren't bad. Thanks!

Lake Redman-York PA question
hey Boatnik thanks. I can't pm back, don't have enough posts yet. I went to Williams but it was so low I'd have to drag my kayak a long way just to get to the water, so I went to the launch on the east of 83. Didn't get anything but saw my first striper boil:) Now I just need to figure out how to get those to bite. I'm about 5 minutes from Redman so I hope I'll be there quite a bit.

Lake Redman-York PA question
Does anyone have an idea how deep Lake Redman is? I'll pick up a fish finder at some point but just got a kayak and want to play around a bit with some jigging or casting for stripers/hybrids.

whats your favorite technique?
1. Topwater-be it poppers, jerkbaits or wakebaits, there is nothing like the topwater strike 2. Slug-gos/Plastic worms. I've fished a lot of ponds and these always work 3. Crankbaits- either casting or trolling

bps z9r mini swimbait troubles
I got one of these over the weekend (just getting into swimbaits and it was cheaper than others) and only threw it a couple of times so far. I have also read a bunch about taking off the back hook, so I've now done that and will see how it works next time I go out.

Hello all
Getting back into fishing after 15 or so years away from it. I have a young son and another on the way and want to be able to pass it on to them. Primarily fishing the local lake and might head over to the Susquehanna to do some shore fishing as well. Have spent many a day on the Potomac near Brunswick, MD and Deep Creek Lake MD. Thinking about getting a cheap boat or a fishing kayak, but finances will make either one of those wait:)

Any thoughts on the Team Diawa Tierra casting rods?
I'm working with a limited budget (2nd kid is due in a few weeks) and am interested in getting a new casting rod. I'd basically use it for everything in the tacklebox and some live bait. I do have some swimbaits but they are all about 5 inches so no monster ones. The Diawa rod seems like a real nice rod for the money and I've always liked that company.
