I love the jitterbug at night, I'm a bit ashamed of myself because my newer plugs are always used instead of it (new toys I guess). The way I've always used it was throw it, let it sink, and then slowly reel it back in with no twitches or anything.

I love slug-gos. Let it drop when it hits the water, they have a great slow drop that will get strikes. As stated above quick twitches and then pauses work. You can also work it quick as a wake bait up top and get strikes. Lovely baits.

Nate I'm probably a bit off from going there (will probably wait until my kids are a couple years older), but how do you think a kayak would do on the water? Is it a big boat lake?

Rubber worms or slug-gos have never failed me in farm ponds.

I picked one of these up a few weeks ago and haven't had any luck so far. One question I have is about the retreive. I keep reading about going slow with swimbaits and I think its one thing I need to work on, however I'm wondering if I should be throwing in the occasional jig or twitch like I am currently. I'm sure the bait has some fish in it, I just need to figure out how to get em out:)

Grats! Actually got my first frog bass today as well. Mine hit it in a lake with no grass or anything. I brought it across the creekbed, he hit it once and missed so I flipped it back over and got him. I was using a spro bronzeye tree frog color.

Been looking at a lot of different types for sale (ie. Lunker Punker, Silent Runner, Zara Spook). Anyone have a favorite? Also anyone know the weight of the 5" Injected Lunker Punker?

Anyone try these out? I picked up a pack and have used them once. Do you bring them in with a straight reel, jig them, or a combination?

Thanks for those. I should say I prefer hard baits to soft when I can, but with swimbaits that might not be an option.

I'm pretty addicted to swimbaits, or ate least the idea of them, however I don't have a big rod to throw the weighter ones. Any recommendations for ones 1.5 oz or under? I have the Spro 4" shad on my list so far.
