A friend of mine caught one Tuesday on a chatterbait. Seven pounds exactly on a digital scale. For perspective, the boat seat is 16 1/4" wide. That was one fat Mama full of eggs. Hootie

Long rods are finally coming to market
I remember when anything over 5 1/2 ft. was a long rod. Hootie

Which is more important? The rod or reel?
Try fishing, first the rod with no reel, then the reel with no rod. I think you will find, they are equally important. Hootie

New Carving,....Bear
The best wood I have found, easiest to carve is basswood. Ironic isn't it...."BASS"wood...lol. I get mine at a woodworking store in my area called "Rockler". I really don't know if they are nationwide. You also can usually find it at "Hobby Lobby". If you have any woodworking stores in your area, they will most always have a better selection of sizes and better prices. It's really a very relaxing hobby. As I have stated on a previous post, until December, last, I had never carved anything in my life. Not even a turkey...lol. So, I have a total of 3 months experience. I just Googled Rockler, and they are pretty much scattered all over the country. Hootie
