Simply Amazed!

Everyone has seen the exploits of my grandson Aiden & his fish catching availability but this is about my other 10 yr old grandson Evan Trace.

Below is what my daughter-in-law texted me!

Today was such an amazing day! It has been a very hard gym season for my sweet boy. Some falls and mistakes at meets, nerves getting the best of him. He's stood with such strength of character, poise and maturity, walking away from meets with NOTHING, others not placing or ending up in 12th place. It's a hard thing to handle. Gym has no 2nd chances, you get ONE shot!! Evan works nonstop, 9 hrs a week in the gym, constantly working at home, and pushing himself, cheering his teammates and praying for them even when his spirits are down he celebrates (sometimes after a min to be a little boy and cry). I am constantly amazed at his work ethic, and I don't know that I could deal with disappointment nearly as well as he can. Today he came to state to ROCK it!! He and his big brother have had some pow wows and they decided he CAN and would win state! Hard work paid off!

This boy!! Evan is the state champ on floor and pommel! 3rd place in state on vault, 2nd on parallel bar and 4th on high bar. My amazing son tied for 1st for All Around state champ!! Their team is the Level 5 state champion too! SO amazed!!!

I talked to Evan today & what makes it even sweeter is the beat his archrival!

There's another 10 yr old named Atticus who has been Evan's nemesis since they started gymnastics. Atticus beat Evan ever tournament this year, although ever so slightly he still beat him. Evan finally took him this time for State Champion!

Revenge is sweet ;)

Evan learned the hardest part first, then was graced by the sweetness of victory.

I'm proud of Evan, and his grandpa too.

From a young boy to a Man, then a Man with a family. Seeing our children have children & participating in this, as a Grandfather is the ultimate reward.

Some of us have been on a helluva journey.

Here's to kids & grandkids & journeys..

Catt, take that boy out & show him how to stick those Cajun largemouth. ( plastic worm sir )

Congratulations Catt.
