  5. In my opinion The jig head is only the "better way to go" if you're not swimming it through any vegetation. Other than that the keel weight will let it fall horizontally into any hole which I find is a better presentation than nose down. Mike
  6. Good video! In relation to your problem of them not running straight when useing a twist lock hook, that happens when it is not screwed in EXACTLY straight. You think it is but all it takes is just one spiral just a little off, which happens most times with the last few turns, and it will track to that side. Useing the centering pin type helps to get it started but the final turns most likely is your problem. Mike
  7. Yeah Buddy!! When you get it send it down here as soon as you can. ?? Mike
  8. As I got better with a casting reel I sold all of my magnetic only reels. Won't use another. Mag brakes do nothing for you when casting which is where most people have the most trouble. Thumb muscle memory will come with extensive practice where you won't lose much distance if the reel is adjusted to your casting style from the beginning. Mike
  9. Maybe where you're at but not down here. Ask again in October Mike

Anybody try the BPS River Bug? I was walking around waiting on Mrs Mike and spotted them. They look good but that doesn't necessarily mean anything Mike
  12. Haven't heard that, but I hope you're right. Mike
  13. Don't really care either way but I hope it happens. In my opinion one larger governing body organized with a fair structure, having the best anglers under one umbrella would be ideal. It will not only improve the competition, but it will have a greater possibility of moving the sport more into the mainstream. Mike
  14. I carry all 3600 vertically divided Plano boxes for everything except terminal tackle which is a 3700 with glued in dividers. I separate them by style Stick baits Creatures Top water Chatterbait and Jigs Crank, Jerk and Traps Swim baits and trailers. Spinnerbaits and 10" worms are in a separate compartment in the bag Mike
  15. I use a Plano 3700 for all terminal tackle with glued in dividers. Mike
  16. That's been going on for years. Van Dam didn't "perfect" his line of sq Bill's in his swimming pool before he put his name on it. Nor did Skeet Reese or anyone else "perfect" thier line of rods at a local pond near thier house Point is, prototype fishing equipment are designed, made and tweaked for certain pro anglers who have the record and selling power the manufacturer is looking for. The best selling point they have is if someone uses it to win. They still have to find em, hook em and land em like everybody else. Honestly, I doubt if I'd enjoy bass fishing as much if anyone anywhere can catch a fish with every cast. But that's just me Mike
