  1. 1965 GTO I've had it since '92 and slowly restored it. Original engine and drivetrain but when I bought it, it had the wrong paint color for the year, the rally wheels were long gone and it had a few other mod's so I just left it as is and slowly brought her back to life. It paid off as she won a Concours award in the modified division at the GTO Nationals a few years later. Mike

  3. I have bags and bags of tubes that I've never opened. Don't even think about them. Considering the moderate to heavy vegetation I fish in I think there are better options. Mike
  4. Ditto Fished a tournament with Rob a while back. He will put you on fish for sure. Mike
  5. Pretty much covered it,, That Stick and Farm is fast becoming my 2nd favorite place. Got my PB out of there in March on a Fat Max worm. Hit that wood field and around the pump area hard with a spook early, then pitch a worm or Rage Bug as the day heats up. As @geo g said a day with multiple 7+ fish is possible if you hit it right. Good Luck and come back with a full report ? Mike
  6. Thanks Thats my Baby! ?
  7. Do a search on here as there was a thread not long ago that listed a bunch. Mike

  10. Michael Don't make yourself crazy trying to get a silent entry with a 10" worm. By it's very definition you're gonna displace a lot of water when it hits which, contrary to popular belief, can be a good thing. Mike
  11. In calm winds, rigged with a 5/0 hook, weightlessness on a properly adjusted bait caster you can pitch it a lot farther than you may think. A weight will help it travel if you want to bomb it but for me there are better options for that depending on what you're throwing it into. Mike

Mrs Mike and I watch it all the time and tape them all. It's really interesting to an old city boy like me to see how they build thier shelters, find natural things to eat etc. When it first came on I said to myself "I could do that" (I remember Mrs Mike looking over at me and rolled her eyes) but after a while I learned I would be a little out of my element. But given time and 30 yrs younger I think I'd be alright!!?...Then again... But I sure would like to try! Mike
  14. Just a little bit more of a tapered nose as in @J Francho pitcure. Or some classify a flipping weight as a punch weight with the skirt collar. Mike
  15. George They usually back pump because of excessive runoff from daily rains and especially from hurricane Irma lowered the salinity too much which threatens the sea grass and oyster beds. Without the balance of the salt water the grass will die within 2 weeks and the oysters in a month. What its doing tho is balancing the decrease in water levels in the Big O by pumping water out through the St Lucie and Caloosahatchee rivers and to keep the wildlife from drowning south of the lake. Another problem they have, is the Caloosahatchee is full and any more pumping that way may cause a flood. I've been told that with every foot of rain that falls, the lake rises 3-4ft. Looking forward for things to get back to normal for sure! Mike
  16. 16lbs is a good sack no matter where you live. I've won and lost tournaments with less. Only one way to find out is to fish one. Mike
