  1. I guess my best skill is "reading" the area surrounding a surface mat for the most advantageous spots to punch. My strength is still being somewhat successful fishing from the back of the boat when my boater is fishing his strengths which aren't necessarily mine. Mike

  7. I use a 7' Mh/f Fenwick Techna AV rod. It's rated up 1 1/2 0z. I've used it for punching with a 2oz weight and weightless senkos also..doesn't matter. I want thier head up and in the boat, I don't want to play with 'em. Mike

  12. Question.. Where do find the tungsten beads you use? There's nowhere close to me that I've found that carries them. All I can find are glass? Thanks Mike
  13. Ok there's always one in the crowd .I snell and proud of it That said the only hook I use or ever will use for flippin, pitchin and punchin is the Trokar TK 130. I have never had the problem you describe. I have used a bobber stop below the weight for years but never needed it after switching to the Trokar for some reason. When punching I don't see the need for a gap or a bead as you decribe. The min I use is 65# PP. The last thing I want is any space. Kinda defeats the pupose of having a punch rig in my mind. If t rigging in sparse or moderate cover, then I use a bead. Just one mans opinion Mike
  14. Down here that's prime frog, skimming a magnum speed worm and swim bait territory. Not saying I wouldn't punch through the heavier sections, but with all those scattered holes punching wouldn't be my first choice. But I can certainly see why anyone would. Thanks Ryan and Catt, I hope others in the future follow your lead. Mike

  17. When I first saw this I opened it right away thinking "I can help this guy" because I will punch first then look for other things to do..But not now This should be a sticky Mike
