  3. All good tips One needs to be repeated....If you have to lip 'em to get it in, lift straight up until you can support the belly..The damage is done by bending or "tweaking" the lower jaw even slightly as Hamma said. Mike

  10. Ditto My "frog" setup also does triple duty..frog, swim baits, carolina rig..7' Falcon "Carolina Lizard Dragger" with a PQ spooled with 30# power pro. But for flipping in heavy cover and especially punching I use a dedicated combo just for that ...7' 2" h/xf micro guided Smoke rod with a Curado G spooled with 65# power pro. Mike
  11. I really like it. I've used many different brands, most all that has already been mentioned, but to me Sniper is just so much better. It cast's better, has better knot strength, and has less memory and stretch than anything I've tried. Yes, it is pricey compared to most but to me it's well worth it. Mike
  12. Braid...Power Pro / frogs, swim baits, all top water and punching (considering trying Seaguar's fipping braid) Flouro...Sunline Sniper / All bottom contact presentation's. Co Poly...Yo Zuri / All other moving baits Don't use mono for anything Mike
  13. I've tried it both ways on a whim one time and found that my hook up ratio was zero and it kept helicoptering on me with a fluke on the trailer hook. (which I use more of than any other trailer) I think that if a fish is non committed but keyed on the fluke it will get hooked on the trailer hook as it is just above it. I think it minimizes an other wise short strike. Mike
  14. Like most others, plastics, plastics and more plastic. To break it down...Craws/Beavers, Stick Baits and Paddle Tail Swimbait's Mike
  15. I do, especially when I want to try something new. I have spots in a few local canals and ponds that are close by that I know where, when and how to catch a fish or two. But when I buy something new I will go to places Ive never been to just to see what happens and then follow that up to those places I know and throw the same thing to see if they'll bite and make a mental note of the results. I've eliminated a lot of second guessing and saved money on baits doin it this way. Mike

  23. I also had one of these for years..It not only is my Carolina rig rod but also my frog and swim bait setup. I use this more than anything else I own. Also, from what I understand it is considered the industry's first technique specific rod.. Mike
